This is my brand new truck with only 8 miles on her. it is on it way this will be my first pickup. I alway had muscle cars and suvs. This was out the door for 30,800. I didnt notice until now it doesnt have the head lights like I see on most other chevy and gmcs. I though all new 2014 chevy trucks had the projecter headlights.

Its 5.3l with the peb custom sport package, 3.42 gears, locker rearend. Im still wait on shippment of the truck, but know it has the 4.2 screen do they have back up camera on the 4.2inch mylink? Also my buddy said just get a aftermarket tag camera as its better for backing up to a trailer.

congrats on the new truck and that is a pretty good price as well. as for the camera, its not a option with the 4.2" screen. when you add the convenience package (that has the reverse cam and some other things) it steps it up to the 8" screen as per chevy's build page.

but I will say, I can see my hitch just fine with the tailgate handle mounted camera.

Very nice! I like the color.

From what I can research, the projector style headlights are only available on the LTZ and LTZ Z71 and High Country Trims.

 

Fortunately, they appear to be direct swaps. If you wanted to purchase them from the dealership, and swap them in, people seem to say it's just 1 plug.

I will be doing this when I someday purchase a LT Z71 trim.

Thanks, I think im going to wait on the headlight swap for awhile and let the price go down on them. I think my first buy for this truck is going to be nice leather or vinyl seat covers and spray in bed liner.

If you drive at night, you will be glad you didn't get projectors.

I GOT MY TRUCK ON FRI ALSO A LT WITH NO PROJECTORS BUT I ALREADY FOUND THESE WILL PROBABLY BE MY FIRST MOD AFTER TINT OF COURSE, PS NICE TRUCK

Thanks, I checked out the ebay link. I think that is just led kit for the stock projector head lights. correct me if im worng

IDK LOL i thought it was the projectors dam i was gna buy that then buy a hid kit for the lights or how does it work lost

 

Ha, those are just halo rings for the stock projectors, which you would still need to buy.

 

Don't put hids into your stock reflector housings and be that guy driving down the road glaring light at everyone ;) Buy the projector housings, THEN install the his.

I figure within the next 6-12 months they will have more aftermarket headlights like they do for the 07-13 models

The stock camera is perfect for backing up to a trailer. Put the tailgate in the half-open position (loop the tailgate support stays around the latching pins) and you can put the trailer ball precisely under the trailer hitch in seconds.

      Its coolant disguised as oil.   TSB - 20-NA-166 1..3   "To inspect for this concern, add coolant dye to the system, run the engine through warm up, pressurize the cooling system after warming the engine to operating temperature (let the engine cool overnight) and inspect the suspect cylinder with a borescope for coolant dye evidence. At times it may be necessary to remove the head for inspection. If the head casting line is the concern, the intake port will be wet with a coolant oil mix"

      Can you sample the pooled liquid, enough to confirm it is oil?   ...That its not fuel or coolant.   Also, make sure combustion gases aren't entering the cooling system.   Simply put, either oil being pushed up past the rings (this really isn't possible), oil leaking past the head gasket, oil leaking past the valve, oil entering through the intake air path. If none of this is likely - it may not be oil.   What could be likely is the fuel injector leaking down. A puddle of gas would still smoke and rough idle. (Same cylinder has the same problem after injector replacement?)   What is the crank time first thing in the morning, when the puddle would be present? Does it seem like the high pressure fuel pump needs an extra second or two to rebuild the pressure that injector 8 may have let bleed off? Check the fuel pressure via a scanner prior to starting the engine.

      Good information!  I didn't know about the dementia aspect and asked for a general for my second knee. I'd heard that recovery room time is usually shorter with a general.   The anesthesiologist talked me out of it and I had the spinal.  Inconvenience and/or discomfort is a small price to pay for reduced risk!

      This is for those over 70 years of age contemplating joint replacement surgery involving general anesthesia. Even some 55 yrs. ago when I took my pharmacology class the dangers of developing dementia in the elderly that had general anesthesia were beginning to be recognized. Over the years there has been some refinement in the cautionary warnings, avoid general anesthesia if possible if you've had close to 10 priors, especially over the age of 70 and/or a family history of dementia. I'm not including the twilight anesthesia induced by propofol often used in cytoscopies or colonscopies. Seriously think about seeing a neurologist and undergo cognitive testing before proceeding if any of those criteria apply to you. Spinal anesthesia may be an option in some cases. I'm in the above camp and although I could use a new right knee, I get fidgety according to a prior orthopedic surgeon when the bone saw spools up or maybe it was the smell of saw blade meeting bone, anyhow I may have one general anesthesia left in me which I will pocket for now and I'm choosing mind over mobility, anyway where did I leave my damn cane!
