Bluetooth dongle for OBD 1 suburban

I've got a bluetooth dongle for my obdii vehicle (brand shall not be named) that syncs with my phone and my nexus 7 tablet with the torque app.

I've looked and looked and there don't seem to be OBD 1 versions of the same thing which I'd like to try on the 91 Burb.

I have seen 12 pin to 16 pin adapters. Would this work?

The dongle on my newer vehicle was $15. An adapter I found on the internet was another $10.

Anyone do this or know if there's a way I can even get the neat live updating in an OBD 1 vehicle.

BTW this is just for fun, I don't have any CEL lights on, yet.

EDIT:

Further research suggests that OBD 1 was a temporary place holder for the more widely adopted 1996 OBD2 standard and that GM was one of the pioneers of this functionality when they put OBD functions in heir vehicles at the factory as a quality control method back in the 80s. Neat!

I use a program called Tuner Pro RT,an ALDL cable and a laptop to read my ECM.It works good for watching what's going on with my burb.I have a pic and a video of it in action if you'd like to see it.

OBD1 is a very simple system and was mostly designed to meet smog test standards. I doubt that anyone will bother trying to market a device like is sold for OBD2 (especially since OBD1 cars are all getting to be 20+ years old.)

I use Tuner Pro RT to monitor my ECM.Lately I've been having trouble with my laptop connecting to the ALDL adapter so this might be a good thing for me.Having an OBD1 wireless connection to my phone or laptop sounds intriguing.

I have the definition files already.

OK,so I got it working.Evidently the most recent Tuner Pro RT update didn't like the Windows 7 upgrade I did on my laptop.I removed W7 & re-installed Windows XP & TP RT with an older version and now works again
