I need a new Air Dam

Well last night we got a good 8-9" of snow.  These BFG A/T's are awesome.  But this morning I turned into a parking lot that hadnt been cleared, I hit a drift that was a good 2.5-3 ft.  Truck cut right through it but it tore half the air dam off as I found out upon returning home.  I decided to just rip the rest off since it had been cracked in several places.  I didnt care for the stock one anyways.  I want to buy one that fills the empty gap in the chrome bumber and goes just slightly below that.  I dont have fog lights.  Has anyone purchased this?  Does anyone have any pictures?  Its a 99 Silverado Z71

I believe some have put on PIAA airdams which can be outfitted with round fogs.  Pretty sharp from what I've seen.  I believe Jason Pendlum has that setup.

the chrome ones look decent and won't break off since they are held on by bolts  not crappy plastic snaps that gm loves to use.

I like the PIAA air dam, but its $170 plus a set of $150+ lights.  I just want something simple that exposes more of the skid plate than the stock dam

As far as the lights, I don't know if the factory round lights would be any better than the rectangular ones, but you should be able to pick up some 4 inch round lights at Wal-Mart or a local parts store that are 55 watts that will work really well.  Should be brighter too without melting the housings.  

 

If you looking for more clearance though, I'm pretty sure it's the same as the ones on the Silverado's.  Actually, I don't recall ever seeing any that hang down any less than the factory one.

The round fogs on the Z71 are no better than our rectangle ones. You'd be better off buying some decent aftermarket ones, plus I'm sure the GM lights cost a fortune compare to cost of most all aftermarkets lights (Except for maybe PIAA or Hella).

Do you have a source for these?  I'm going to need one too if I keep making my own parking spots in snowbanks or light brush.  The airdam just rips away when I back out.

Watch out for the grill, they don't take much abuse either.  I cracked mine in about 3-3.5 feet of snow. Lucky for me it doesn't show much. But it was fun.  At one point I had snow coming over the hood and it just kept going.

I really do miss my Z71 but I thought I better get me one of those last Camaro SSs. That SS is one bad car, though I have only put 600 miles on it. I'm in the works of trying to trade my 1999 Z71 in on a 1500HD. That with a 6" lift and 35" tires would be pretty sweet too.
