1992 Sierra leaking oil lines

My 92 Sierra 2wd, 5.7 leaks oil pretty bad from where one line connects into the oil filter base. Thinking of just deleting them both. Can I just pull them and plug the holes?

They do make a block-off plate

Why not just repair the leak? The lines and the filter adaptor base have Viton (green) o-rings for seals that your GM dealer should have in stock. I replaced them at least once on my '94.

Can't say much as to what kind of issues might arise from deleting them, but man I just wouldn't mess with getting rid of OE oil lines I'm with Mike replace the seal and see if that solves it
