Disappointed with my vortec

Last night was my last prom. I poured water on the back tires and tried to do a brake stand and nothing. I have abuse mode removed, brake torque management removed, and almost no TM. The tires were even inflated 1 pound over max psi. I have a in person BB and k&n intake and brand new performance plugs installed a week ago Why is this? Its crazy my 02 suburban z71 drive by cable cannot do it with 3.73's while my friends fords can sit there all day and spin em stock. Justin said the only thing holding me back was my rear disk breaks when he did the tune. Any thoughts? Its kinda sad throwing all this money into a vehicle just to see everyone around you light em up leaving prom

Guess there's nuthin' left to do in life but roll over and drive responsibly. :dunno:

This thread is funny. Your lucky you didn't drop a driveshaft or blow the rear trying to do a childless thing with all that weight and a locking rear trying to spin both rear tires and now you want to complain about your motor. This is one of the dumbest threads I have seen.

If you HAVE to do stuff like this, install a line lock on your front brakes, then burn 'em to your heart's content. Of course, whoever's buying your tires might not be too happy.

Well if you're leaving prom with a date you shouldn't be burning out, might scare them away. Don't blame the motor, you have a heavy suburban and to me it seems like traction is a nice thing to have. My pickup with a similar drivetrain can roast the tires from a slow roll, no brakes needed. And don't think too highly of fords, I have yet to see an Explorer do what you were trying, haha.

Long story short, brake stands are for children and you have more room in the back for activities than they do.

I probably should have taken the back seat out ;) where i live in the country the girls like it when we leave with some smoke

 Oh how I miss high school, where social status is dictated by burnout ability.

We had a 2002 Yukon 5.3 and it was the worst performance dog I think I ever owned. So if you think you want to do this kind of stuff, get a vehicle with big power and/or an open differential! :nopity:

Your throwing some money at a Sub? For performance??

I know everyone here is bagging on you for acting like a child and wanting to do burnouts with a Sub.. In all honesty, you are renewing my faith in teenage humanity! I am sick of Hondas with wings and whatever you want to call these mufflers they have on them (I have a few names that may be offensive).

Anyway.... realize that your problem is with the back disc brakes, the physics of a locker with crap load of weight, and not necessarily your Vortec... By the way, what engine are you complaining about??

If I remember right he has a flex fuel 5.3

I know the engine has plenty of power but i think it just lacks some of the low end torque the 5.7 had. Those 5.7 suburbans could do it fine

If you want poor traction, crappy high mileage tires will do it.

I'll take sticky tires every day. Burnouts just waste money I can use for better things.

Torque in the LS based engines doesnt peak until over 4000 RPM. Its not an old engine and you have better brakes than older vehicles. You keep acting like a kid who just got his license yiu are going to break hard parts and it wont be cheap or easy to fix.
