Windshield crack

I've already replaced the windshield on my 14 Sierra once, and already have another crack and need to replace it again. I also have 4 friends with new GM trucks/SUVs that have had to replace windshields. I called GM to complain and they told me there was nothing they could do.

Has anyone had their windshield just crack. Just got into my truck and noticed a big crack and no sign of a rock hitting it.

Of course, as everything else they can deny. Mine makes very loud cracking sounds often even when stopped at a red light. I have a little below 1400 miles on my truck and if my windshield cracks, I'm getting rid of it.

Same thing happened to mine, took to the dealer and the tech couldnt find anything. Then they brought some suit in from the inside and he said there was a small rock chip on the side. It pissed me off but whatever. These new trucks are terrible. Almost lemons.

Albeit, the redesign for 2016 , I'l bet there are a lot more changes than they mention.

I think our 2015 chevy silverado is a rock magnet! 25 days new chip 1. 35 days crack. Everytime driving on freeway SEVERAL rocks hit my windshield. Arodynamics huh? $$$$$$ chaaaaaachinnnnggggg! PLEASE GM RECALL AND FIX THIS ISSUE

This just happened to me tonight. Driving to the grocery store (no highway involved). Got back into the truck and there's a huge crack in the windshield (driver's side middle). It definitely wasn't there earlier today and I wasn't on any highway today. I maybe drove 10 km today. No rock chip either.

Some owners, including me, have reported hearing what sounds like a rock hitting the w/s even when not following any vehicles.....just wondering if this could be related.

I hear this as well.

So just got told that dosent look like a rock hit caused this but their is a chip about 2 mm away but they dont intersect. But since im over 500 miles (at 1 yr 15,250) they cant do anything.

had that happen to me twice with my GMT400 regular cab long box. With a load in the back, and the passenger door not fully closed - making a turn at an intersection, and crack. exact same circumstances both times. Bottom right corner of windshield.

Dealer didn't believe me. Once - I couldn't argue .... second time, and in same place I knew it was a design flaw.

Too much frame or cab flex. Doubt it could be same issue in a crew cab.

I picked up my 2016 3500HD longbed on friday. Within SECONDS of pulling ou of the dealer I heard a small tap sound, with no cars around. I saw a tiny pit in the windshield and thought it must be a bug. When I got home I felt it and it was indeed a pit. Drove it for the 3rd time today. Same sound, another small pit drivers side. Heard tapping sound a few times. Took it to a glass shop they said it wasnt something that needed to be fixed. I called my dealer and he blew it off like I was crazy and told me to check with my insurance company. Never seen a windshield do this. What is going on? Is it possible for a windshield to pit without getting hit!? Got the truck woth 225 miles. It just broke 500- drove 200 from dealer. Not sure how to feel about this as it's my first non Toyota in over 25 years.

welcome to owning a gm truck, drove to the cottage at midnight last weekend, no traffic and no bugs this time of year woke up the next morning and there was a 2 foot crack on the passenger side. i have had this truck for almost two years and it happens.
