larger aftermarket fuel tank?

Filling up so frequently is making me want a larger tank. Does anyone make a larger tank for the '14s yet? (1/2 ton trucks)

Your only option right now is gonna be an in bed tank.

titan tanks are the only after market tanks i have seen that arent in bed, not sure if they have one for the 2014's or gas motors for that matter, last time i looked the only made diesel tanks.

Liability issues drove some of the oversize gasoline tank makers to discontinue them. Some kept making diesel tanks. You might look into the differences between a diesel tank and a gasoline tank. Might be the same or adaptable.

has anyone found an aftermarket replacement tank yet for our trucks? Ive been looking for one for a while now, got a buddy looking into building an aluminum in bed tank for me that I can use to fill the truck, but would rather something that can go under the truck and replace the OEM tank if its big enough and price is right

i have been wanting to add some extra capacity to my truck as well. what i will probably end up doing is having a tank made for my bed. similar to this.

I actually just found that about 15 minutes ago! Lol.

As much as I'd like to have something DOT approved, it looks like the DOT just makes it too hard to build a legal Gasoline tank, so it looks like something home built it may have to be

 

I'm thinking of something just like that but short enough to fit under a tonneau. Let me know if you come up with anything!

As much as I'd like to have something DOT approved, it looks like the DOT just makes it too hard to build a legal Gasoline tank, so it looks like something home built it may have to be

thats funny. i was just searching "1/2ton truck aux fuel tank" and it came up a few times. i'm in the same boat, i'd like to keep it dot approved but it's just a pain in the ass. the other thing i have seen, but more pricy is ditching the spare tire for a racing type fuel cell. i don't have a pic, but i've seen it done on a silverado in california

Hmm. That's interesting. Never considered something right there since I had plans for a train horn or air tank going right there, but am now wondering if the fuel tank would do better there

I even saw someone on an F250 have 2 custom made racing fuel cells for infront of his wheel wells

Got a buddy to agree to make me a fuel tank. Will be just like the pic posted but it will stay below my tonneau. Will keep updated as he lets me know how it goes

Not sure yet honestly. His family owns a metal shop and they do a lot of AC work so he's gonna see if he can get some thick enough aluminum and make it out of any large enough scrap pieces. I'll give updates as much as I get them
