It Will Do Fine. IDrive Mine Alot But Not Now I Don't Have To Drive The Truck Anymore. Just On Weekends. Anyways Just Stop Every Fill up Stretch Your Legs. I Drive To Cleveland And NYC Several Times. Shouldn't Have Any Problems.

You have kids and a wife? If so I would be worried about them way more than the truck. I have 4 and a wife, I personally would take some Valium and let the wife drive, ha! Seriously though, as long as you have enough money for gas you will be fine, truck will do great.

Edit: I do not condone drug use without a prescription; it was meant as a joke.

Sounds about like my drive from L.A. to Mitchell SD every hunting season. Been doing it for about 10 years. Allow for plenty of pee stops and sit down meals.

Leave early, stop as often as you need, eat your large meal at noon (meals are cheaper), use gas buddy before you leave to find the best price on fuel, if you see it cheaper stop and get it then. I like to travel at night so the wife will sleep and I don't stop for her so much. These are some of the things that I do to make it a better trip for me. :jester:

I just drove from PA to CO strait through and the truck did awesome. The only thing you might notice is your battery gauge will probably drop to 9ish cause when you're at speed or idling a lot, the alternator doesn't need to work as hard storing the power in the battery to save mpg. I was getting worried but once I searched it, my mind was put to ease.

Mpg... You'll prob see anywhere from 12-21ish depending on speed and elevation. That's what I saw at least with 2.5 level and 33.4x12.3 18x9 (100lbs roller combo)

Enjoy your trip

Drove from San Antonio to Michigan straight through alone with my old 6.2 lifted on 33s. Easy drive....Although not sure if you're taking the same route. I always prefer to just go straight through and get it out of the way lol I averaged 15.2 mpg the entire trip...but thats with the old 6.2. Just don't drink a 5 hr energy when you get tired, it made me go crazy and want to just peg it for awhile!

good luck on the road trip and enjoy the scenery. I am also someone that likes to take road trips at night, less traffic and cooler temps. truck will be fine, I drove my 02 Silverado with 150k on the odometer on a 22 hour road trip from Houston, TX to Vanhorn, TX (about 200 miles east of El Paso, TX) and back to Houston in one day, non-stop just me and a buddy of mine. it was a great road trip and nothing like being out on the open road!

I think gas mileage should be pretty close between the two. Hopefully. Lol

Im a daytime driver. But I'll leave a few hours before light and try to be done driving by dark. I like seeing the country in the daylight.
