I have read many opinions, good and bad, about this. I was wondering if anybody uses this in the new trucks? Good, Bad...Indifferent. Marvel oil or snake oil?

Just follow the recommendations the owners manual provides.

Would you really want to risk your $30k+ investment on something with MYSTERY in the title?!?

I actually know someone who put that garbage in their engine. It lost oil pressure soon thereafter and never recovered.

I'd suggest finding new sources of advice if someone is touting that crap.

What would be the reason to use it in a new vehicle?

Please don't use that stuff in any modern fuel injected engine. It may have done some good on older engines... say from the 70s and 80s, but it has no place on any modern vehicle.

It is a really good product for what it was made to do. I have some air tools that are 35 years old that have never been used with out a couple of drops being put into them the first thing before they are aired up every day. But as far as using it in or on your truck I think that I would just say no. Just my $0.02. :jester:

MMO can be a good additive for older 'old' school engines both oil and fuel. Seems to do no harm if used in moderation.

In oil,(1/2 qt MMO per 5 qts oil) it acts a very mild cleaner. Cleaning some types of deposits - I have actually used it and it help with sticky lifters ages ago. More aggressive cleaners could release too much crude too quickly and clog filters.

In gas, (4 oz MMO per 10 gallons) it acts a upper cylinder lubricant. Gas it actually very dry. Pouring in the fuel tank helps lubricate the fuel level, fuel pump and injectors.

Now with direct injection, not sure how they will play out.

for a 55 Chevy... yes. But for any newer vehicle.. you would be a fool to add anything to the oil.
