03 ss silverado wont stay running once out of park

so i have an 2003 silverado ss AWD has a lot of work done under the hood ls3 heads cammed corvette throttle body 6.2 escalade intake manifold built trans. the truck starts but if i rev it it will die or if i put in to drive or reverse it dies. an i notice the the positive wire from the alternator gets supper hot. thought it was the fuel pump but it will idle great n park does this sound like its the alternator. any help

If you're getting a hot wire then you have a bad connection somewhere. Check under that connector on your alternator, have the alternator tested at an auto parts store and also any and all grounds. You're not connected properly somewhere, either loose or corrosion.

so i went an got the alternator checked passed got a new positive cable stayed cool started it let the truck warm up put it into reverse died agen now wont run at all

so all of the sudden my truck is acting up starts runes in park once i reve it or get out of park it dies or if i come to a stop rpms drop bad thats when it started. now ity wont stay at an idle

Have you checked for any stored codes? Check fuel pressure and flow. Pressure reading at key on, engine off

 

Also you can clean the MAF and throttle body

i know it had a lot of blow bye before i put a catch can in im wondering if i need to pull the intank off the throttle body was pretty dirty

Have you been over at Silveradoss.com? If certain mods are causing it some of those guys may be able to help

Also what version of X link are you running for that throttle body

ok so i got it running still wants to die but not as bad the only other thing is the fuel filter is dirty.have not ran it for codes yet but before it had the reduce engine power came on a wile a go. the computer has been flashed for the upgrades an can only run 91 an has comp cam. i do not remember what x link i have

Which throttle body? 87 mm truck, LS2 silver blade, or LS3/7 gold blade?

The gold blade 90 mm from the LS3/7 causes reduced power and similar issues that you are having. The best throttle body to run is the 87 mm truck. The LS2 silver blade 90 mm works well as well but has a high price tag
