Looking for solutions for my tablet... I currently have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and a Samsung Note Pro 12.2. I am looking for advise or experience with mounting to the console or dash. I have looked at the goose neck mount (my first desired option) but the seats int he Denali don't have your traditional floor bolts. I looked at PRoclip that makes a console mounting clip but I'm not sure it could support the weight of a tablet plus an additional pillar/mount to get ti to face the driver. I've looked at various dash/vent mounts but once again size and loss of access to systems is a concern.

 

Any ideas or pictures would be greatly appreciated... I know that if I downsized my table there are other option but I am not thinking about buying another tablet until I have exhausted all my other resources.

Look into ram mounts. They are well made. Have one for my phone on my bike

How about getting a second cup holder as someone here did, then either bolting one of the Pro Clip solid pedestals to it or finding a cup holder type stand?

 

Google "cup holder tablet mount" and see what pops up. Lots of ideas.

I finally took the plunge and went i-diving :dunno: .

 

My wife wanted me to pick my gift. I said I wanted a 10" pad that I could use my phone's sim card in. It had to have 4G LTE Verizon, GPS etc. It'd be used for road trips, etc., where we need to find a room, restaurant, or topo maps while navigating off-road. We have phones that have served some of that function, but they are just too small. I have OEM nav in the truck, but it won't do topo at this time and extra programming (nothing for what I want) seems like it's as pricey as any pad. I started shopping for a Samsung, since that's the phones I have and my wife have. The wife got an ipad mini from me a year or so ago. So, I know the product line a bit. I found one I-pad Air (1st gen) on ebay, "new-open box" $389 4G Verizon, etc.

That brand of mount is pricey but extremely nice. I've got the headrest mounts for iPad minis in the back of my truck for my boys. I was a little bit bummed that I wasn't able to find the truck I wanted with OEM rear seat entertainment but decided to figure out a better solution. iPad minis with these headrest mounts are freaking awesome. Each kid had their own video to watch and games if they want and I didn't have to drop a couple of grand on headrest monitors.

 

Basically, you will like the quality of the mount. At least I'm a fan.

thanks for the vote of confidence on their products.

 

I agree with you on having i-pads as opposed to built-in entertainment system. More cost effective, flexible and independent.

 

Joy Factory Inc is just down about 40 miles from me in Irvine CA. The mount should be here tomorrow.

      Fuel Update   6/7/2026   Since getting Pepper back I've been blending fuel. 50/50 E-85 - 93 pump gas. At my local pricing that is a 97 octane fuel for the price of regular and metering 48% alcohol.    This much gasoline octane locally is $10 a gallon with only one local resource!! I can blend this anywhere I find E-85.     Why? Longer range. Same no KR timing pull. More lubricious fuel. No loss in power cylinder cleanliness and a reasonable chance at seeing any future fuel dilution in the UOA's. When I blend with Shell or XOM premiums there is some friction modifier and antiwear enhancement. No cold weather starting issues either. So lots of pluses and few losses.

      That's certainly good to hear that there was nothing alarming on the cover magnet volume wise or chunk wise of metal. I don't recall if the Banks cover holds more oil than the factor cover, what volume did you estimate that it took ?. As to the transfer case I assume you bought whatever brand you wanted of a Dexron VI automatic transmission fluid.    Have you changed the automatic trans fluid at some point and actually I don't recall if your truck is the gas or diesel version as that makes the difference as to which transmission and oil type is required in 2023. The problem with my truck is that its the gas engine with the 10 speed and I've not yet attempted to see if I can drop the pan as the silly exhaust is right in the way and I do not want to touch the exhaust system on the manifold end if I can help it, the diesel does not have the Y pipe style exhaust under the pan so is not an issue to remove the pan.

      I have a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 with 5.3 litre, with 400,000km. I drove it one morning and when starting later in the day it would crank but not start. I figured it had to be the fuel pump, SO i replaced the low pressure fuel pump in the tank. The problem persisted the exact same way, crank but no start. Checked a couple plugs and was getting spark. I then replaced the high pressure fuel pump under the intake. But the same problem persisted, it tried to start right after the high pressure pump replacement for a few seconds but then just cranks. I plugged in a better scan tool with live data and I can see the low pressure pump has the proper pressure but the high pressure pump is only getting 1-3mpa, when the scan tool says it should be 14mpa. The scan tool says the lower pressure fuel is in the 55-60psi range and it hold this pressure when not cranking. But the scan tool shows the high pressure fuel drop down from 2mpa to 0.   I am not sure where to go from here, any recommendations or experiences with this condition? High pressure fuel rail sensor replacement?

      Have you had any issues with your 2.7? I’ve only heard of a few with that kind of mileage so far.    OP, I haven’t read anywhere that carbon buildup is an issue. Just make sure to use top tier fuel. They claim that it’s better than non top tier. I’m not sure about that considering my FIL has delivered fuel for years and said it’s all exactly the same.

      It's raining on and off today, but I was able to change the rear oil and cover before it started. I ended up getting the Amsoil 75W85 for the front, 75W90 for the rear, and the right fluid for the transfer case. I wanted a cover with a drain, so that's pretty much the reason for the aftermarket one. I have a Roadmaster sway bar and had to fabricate 1" spacers for clearance, so that might be helpful if anyone has that on their truck and considering the cover swap. Old oil had 60,000 miles and just the slightest metal fuzz on the magnet; everything looked super nice. Fourth pic is just to highlight the spacers to accommodate the cover. Those bags sure make it easier than the old siphon guns.
