Tire Pressure Sensors

Any issues running without? Going with aftermarket rims/larger tires and will have the sensors on the stock rims switched but might want to run the stock rims/tires if I need to make a long road trip. I'm not sure how often that would be but like to have that option. New sensors are expensive, especially for not knowing exactly how often I'd switch out the wheels.

Never seen the warning light.....would it be livable? Is there an option to turn it off and on? Figured there would be at least a warning light, just wasn't sure if anything else.

Warning light looks like a tire from the front with an exclamation point in it. It can't be turned off as far as I know but it's something you can probably live with. I did in my Subaru when I didn't want to pay for sensors on my winter tire/wheel set.

You should be able to find new sensors for around $30 a piece. Not exactly cheap, but not exactly expensive either (compared to the rest of the truck you are paying for).

 

I think these TPMS systems are worth their existence. If they give me enough warning that I've got a tire going flat, so I can get to a safe place to change it... That is worth keeping it functional to me. Believe me, you ain't gonna want to be dealing with wheels as heavy as these are on the side of a freeway.

You will have a orange TPMS light in your lower right hand corner of dash.. Also, on your middle display/gauge cluster you will have to dismiss the warning every time you turn the vehicle on. I had to get mine reset at Discount Tire today for larger size.

when you get the new wheels and tires they can swap over the sensors from your old set up. they may not want to b/c they have to dismount all your old wheels / tires to get them out but oh well your the one paying them. the sensor is held on by a torx screw connected to the valve stem.

My stock sensors worked when I went to 35s but the valve stems sucked and had to order these weird plastic ones chevy is using now
