Anyone know what this wire is for?

07 Sierra SLT GMT-900.

 

Was under the hood this morning and noticed this wire hanging. Not sure what it's for as the truck is running fine with no issues. It is connected to the firewall and then looks like it heads over towards the fuse box on the driver side. I looked quickly but do not see anything in the area that it looks like it was attached to.

 

Pictures are a little blurry but anyone have any ideas?

So this used to be attached somewhere on the bottom part of the hood. Should I be replacing this with a new ground wire?
