Cargo/Bed light switch

My brother in law liked my new truck so well he traded his 2011 for one. While looking it over last night, I noticed he has a better cargo light switch than me. I have wished there was a way I could tell if my cargo light was on and the newer built trucks have a neat lighted switch when turned on. I am going to order one and install it myself. It looks like they are around $40. The picture of the truck with bed light is even better looking.

I'll bet this is a case where it may not work / light up without a reprogram. The switch is just a momentary switch that sends a message to the BCM. I hate it because it only functions when the truck is in park, a couple times I wanted to shine the light on the load in my bed while driving to make sure it was secure- GM didn't want me to have this ability.

If you put the truck in neutral it will light up the cargo and bed lights.

Yeah, its no biggie, just would be easier to not throw it in neutral while flying down the highway going 80.

True! Wish I knew how to disable it.

I mean disable the need to switch into neutral
