2014/15+ HD PowerFold OEM Tow Mirrors (The Ones We've Been Waiting

Good information brother. I think it makes sense that the rear leds would be for cargo lights, possibly to add more light if one wants to load a trailer up, etc.

I have found an outside vendor who can flash the BCM if one should choose to. The only downside is you'll need to send him your BCM, which is going to lead to down time.

Edit: it's great to know that just by adding the switch you can get the powerfold to work. This is much better news than anticipated. Thank you again for posting this. I will update the original post once I get to a desktop. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]

Just had my salesman validate the LED lights on the new mirrors.

Here is what he said:

In reverse – no mirror lights

Bed lights on – 2 white LED bulbs on mirrors are on

Headlights on – Just the amber section on front of mirror is illuminated

So the white LEDs are intended to be used with the cargo lamps and the amber lights are intended as running lights?

When I say intended I mean what GM intended for them to be used as

Pretty sure that's exactly what he said. [emoji106]

This was how they functioned on a 2015 that came with the mirrors OEM? Did he try the blinker?

Has anyone actually hooked the small white LED's up to the reverse circuit? If so, do you gain much illumination by having them come on while in reverse?

I went by the chevy dealer and they had 4 trucks with the new mirrors. I was able to check them out. The Amber lights are just marker not blinker and also was just able to get the white led just to come on with cargo lights not in reverse.

didn't they specifically say that the white led's were suppose to help you see when your backing up a trailer? how would they help you back up a trailer if as soon as you put that B in reverse they will turn off. lol maybe I remember this wrong but I swear I saw / heard / read that somewhere.

Spoke with my parts guy again today. Just as the door harnesses are different so is the Dash Harness.

It appears there is a 15.5 year harness for the doors and also the dash...I'm wondering if this new harness has the provisions for the mirror accessories?
