SlavO,

How do the new tires ride compared to stock (the new ones being 8 ply vs. 4). Also, any noticeable difference in power/mpg? Do these measure a true 33" on the truck? I have 275-60 Toyos and they are about 32". Thanks for any info!

With winter mix gas, level kit and tires my mpg has drop big time. I don't care at all tho, ride is still awesome , tires where 33" before installed onto the wheels I've not even measured tho. My ride hight is 1/2" higher in the front. I think I'm going to install the rear kit as well , when i get time. I'll take a measurement tomorrow at work parked on level ground. Only 200 miles on the tires loving them so far.

I am getting quotes on this tire in the same size for my '07 with 2" leveling. I am replacing a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers. I liked the Nittos until the end of their tread life, and the ride got rough! I appreciate the reviews!!

Got mine mounted and installed yesterday. These are 285/65R18 (32.6"). Sorry for the dirty truck and the crappy cell phone pics....

I say there a 32" b96a1595a866e5489add6dd93d296243.jpg 275/60/20

looks almost a full inch short of their table. Maybe on an 8" wide rim as they say the tested, pumped up to max psi, it balloons up to 32.9".... :dunno:

I'm also assuming that their measurements are taken when not on a vehicle. I don't think the weight of the truck will squish it down that far, but another area of difference possibly.

And possibly, your tape is stretched out not providing accurate results...

From the picture it looks like you're not looking at it level with the tire and not squatting to look at it level. Looks more like 31 1/2" if looking at it level.

Thanks SlavO,

Yeah seems all tire mfgrs are a little less than they state. On the toyo site it says 33" inflated so I'm assuming that's mounted at max psi but not on the truck. Hard to believe they would compress that much but my 275-60-20's measure right around 32" as well, give or take about 1/4 inch.

what was the mileage with the stock tires? I'm looking at these and the cooper zeons and man that looks like a heck of hit to MPG.

With winter temperatures already here I've been getting bad miles per tank but I do drive fast kinda i had the tires 3 days after i put the tires on so ive no clue... if you keep the rpm's under 2000 rpm. U should be able to get over 16 or 17mpg about 1500 miles onthis trip meter/last oil change. aed9d30a67878e92bd9a8a14115a3069.jpg

And its like a $8 hit so i really don't care one bit. But i understand some people do. Its a life style. I already want bigger tires and a real lift lol.

I need to know if 275/60/20 fit these 14+ trucks without a level

ill be able to tell you first hand in about a week, im picking up my tires tomorrow i think bu i havent bought rims yet.

ill be running duratracs.

i think it should fit just because the stock 22's that fit with no rubbing is 245/45/22 is 32" so you are only going 1 inch more

    • This is a really late reply but I just found this thread. They won't sell the hinges. I've gone 7 rounds with them. Their solution is to buy a new cover. I'm about to buy a new cover and it won't be a Bakflip. It also won't be from realtruck.com.
    • Yes, and also pulling heavy trailers or a large camper up steep grades as well as descending grades such as the more rustic off road camping locations and using engine braking with that low gearing as well as soft ground can just suck the power . I realize pickups these days tend to have an over all lower first gear ratio compared to automatic transmission pickups from years back so that has helped a lot in its ability in high range but there comes a point if in four wheel drive the torque runs out at the wheels, certainly with a gas engine. They don't put two speed transfer cases on pickups for a cool factor, they have a function if one needs that massive torque to the wheels that high range can't deliver.
    • Notes 7/18/2026   3,400 miles on this batch of Mobil 1 Euro 5W40 since the GDI pump replacement. Alcohol runs very clean when ring seal is tight and the sump isn't getting hosed with fuel. Checked oil level at fill up today as is my practice and grabbed a white Kleenex to look at the color. What color?  I was going to change it but.....
    • 4 low is really nice on steep boat ramps.
    • Interesting, I suspect I would have fueled up in Lee Vining as the day prior I would have filled up either in Laughlin or near there and maybe again before I entered Death Valley and once out the other side late that evening as I kept on driving into the night up near Lee Vining. Next morning I most likely fueled up in LV before heading over Tioga Pass into ( as I refer to it as "Yose .... Mite" 😁 ). And again that was 19 years ago but the price then must not have jumped out at me like the 5 bill a gallon theme of nutty cult hippy country Big Sir or head so far up their rear Aspen. I'd be curious to know where the highest prices are in the lower 48, I probably would not be far off to guess somewhere in Cali forn ie. Coldfoot and Prudhoe bay may have those prices beat but that is a whole other world up there and when prices are more normal elsewhere that is about what they can be up there I believe in no mans land. Anyway interesting that the 395 corridor is hosing people and the thing is, its tourist season and its not like there are a lot of competition options when driving up that highway from what I could see. Yup, big ole Boaterhomes and various other RV's ahead and behind me at the Yosemite entrance gate and they have to get their fuel somewhere.
