Yeah, mine still had a slight vibe at idle, could see ripples in a water bottle but the stumbling/surging went away after the techron and oil drain. Now it's back. I guess I will just drive it as is and try and run this tank out and get some good 93 and run another bottle of techron through and see where we stand!

Side note, went and drove Ram's tonight with my Dad....I think hes gonna end up with a loaded Laramie Hemi. I gotta say, the Hemi has a lot of power, and the 8 speed trans is really smooth.....got me thinkin...

Eh, as a former Dodge owner that swore off the brand in 2006, I'm happy with my decision: http://blog.caranddriver.com/fiat-chrysler-quality-chief-resigns-one-day-after-terrible-consumer-reports-rankings/

"The New York Times reports that Doug Betts, Fiat-Chrysler quality chief, abruptly abandoned his post this morning. The company, where Betts worked for the past seven years, occupied the very bottom of Consumer Reports magazine’s annual rankings released yesterday, with Fiat, Jeep, Ram, and Dodge taking the bottom four slots and Chrysler nabbing number 22 on the list of 28."

Thats article is only talking about Infotainment systems. I personally find the Ram Uconnect to be one of the best infotainment system on the market. Its better than GMC Intellilink for sure.

I seriously have the worst luck with cars though. The past two vehicles I have had including my Sierra have been to the dealer at least once a month for something. So if I can get out of a problem vehicle for little to no cost. I would do it. I know buying a vehicle is a losing investment, so why not just keep getting new ones...

Well I can't argue with this man. I'm 0-3 on reliable trucks at this point so perhaps I should just shut up haha

Haha. I wish I would have kept my 2002 Silverado that I traded back in 2010. It was a GREAT truck. Damn I miss it.

I had a Dakota that was a lemon....ton of transmission work. My '07 Silverado had a ton of things break just after warranties were up.....speakers, heated mirrors, transmission, then finally oil consumption which is when I offically gave up and got rid of it. Now I'm on the '14 just waiting for something to break. Yeah 2002 was during what I call the GM Golden Age. I told my dad under no circumstances whatsoever is he to get rid of his 2004 Suburban. That thing barely has 100k miles and has been nearly flawless.

Mine has about 700 Miles on it now and at idle I feel kind of a knock every few seconds. Nothing I would consider alarming though.

Check out this thread: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/161833-what-gas-do-you-use-in-you-2014-gmc-sierra/

I filled up with 89 yesterday for the first time and plan to stick with that from here on out.

Very informative. Thank you

Have you noticed a difference in the motor at idle?

I'll have to report back on that. I still had 1 or 2 gallons in the tank when I filled up and I've only driven about 30 miles on the new tank. I'm assuming the newer 89 gas needs to work through the system and the computer needs to make all the appropriate adjustments for the different fuel. So far though there's no problems or anything to report. But yeah I'll try to report back toward the end of the week after more of the 89 octane gas has worked through the engine.

Ram was actually considered best 2014 pickup truck by Consumer reports....but I guess they don't like the infotainment system in Chryslers....

Ok so I have about 150 miles now on the truck using 89 octane gas. Now I don't know if there's actually a difference or if I'm perceiving something that's not there because I want there to be a difference, but I feel like the engine has a smoother idle and overall sounds better at idle. As far as driving goes, the throttle feels slightly more responsive and the truck seems to enter V4 a little more often than before and holds it a little longer than before.

Again, I'm not well versed in a vehicle's engineering at all and I could be perceiving something that isn't truly there, but this is what I feel with the truck after 150 miles. Take it for what it's worth....just my perspective and feeling. I think the best test is for you to just spend the extra $4 or $5 to fill up with 89 one time and see what you think on your truck. It won't harm anything and you can always switch back if you don't think there's a change. But I feel enough that it warrants suggesting to you to try it.

My 6.2 makes a quick vibration at even intervals at idle. It's not enough to worry me, but I am thinking about having it checked out. The salesman filled it with 87, I believe (I just bought it on Friday). I threw in half a tank of 93 after realizing premium fuel was recommended. I'm going to see how it runs after I get a chance to put a full tank of 93 in it. I doubt that will smooth out the idle, but we'll see. This intermittent roughness may coincide with the A/C compressor cycling, too. I'll have to see if I can rule that out.
