Ya see? This is why I never upgrade my IOS.

When I had my 3g right after the 3Gs came out they released an update that basically crippled 3G and I did it.. I regretted it for the next several years.

Yup, I called Infotainment number that the GM customer service rep. provided and they said the new iOS 8 is screwing up alot of stuff on multiple vehicles and brands. He said manufactures have been in constant contact with Apple about it and hopefully their upcoming iOS update fixes it. When it comes out, no one knows exactly we just have to wait. Bummer cause my phone only works sometimes with bluetooth and never with USB connected.

Hey johnrunner89,

Thanks for the update. We're sorry to hear Infotainment wasn't resolve your bluetooth concerns at this time. But it's good to hear they've been actively contacting the appropriate people to get this resolved as soon as possible. Please feel free to let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Eddie A.

It is no better on an iPhone 6 with iOS 8.02. It will randomly reboot the phone and play whatever it wants. Bluetooth and not plugged in seems to be less buggy, but not a whole lot better. This is clearly an issue with Apple.

I was able to clear mine up by deleting the connection off of the phone and intellilink and the reboot phone and restart car. Been working fin for a week now

Glad to see it isn't just me, I thought my stuff was jacked up. Was there ever a resolution found on why we can't get email and text notifications while connected to truck via Bluetooth or USB?

Updating to iOS 8.1 - no improvement.

Android users usually don't have to worry about upgrading their OS. Most of the time, the carrier doesn't make the upgrade available.

Tried my phone in my brothers 14' Sierra and my phone had the exact same issues in his truck as in mine. So yea, Apple iOS issue. Hopefully they release an update soon.

Exact opposite of my experience. My brother inlaw has a Sierra also and both of ours work just fine on our iPhones.

I've noticed when I get in my truck, it will start playing music from my phone via bluetooth except the music being played is stuff I bought on itunes years ago (like 8 years ago) that I never loaded onto my phone in any way. It's like it's streaming it from my account and I have no idea how to get it to stop. Has anyone else experienced this or know what to do?

Yeah that is an apple problem or thing... Mine does the same thing sometimes.... I had to go in and delete all my music from my music app in the iPhone ..

My iPhone 5 has been updated to IOS 8.1 too and I'm still having plenty of trouble that I never experienced before the IOS 8 update. I found a little info about the problem being experience across lots of vehicles and it looks like 8.1 didn't solve the problem for them either.

I have tried doing a total system reboot on the phone, tried removing and re-connecting the bluetooth on my truck, and I also called GMC Infotainment support. They were extremely cortious, but the best help they could give, other than what's been tried, was that I could bring it to the dealer and they could help diagnose it, but this does not seem to be a Intelilink/Mylink issue.

Looking at the comments on the article that I'm linking too, the problems are all over the place.

    • I'm not sure if this should be a new topic, let me know if it's out of place. This my first post. Thanks 85077522 - AC Delco GM Genuine Parts Brake Master Cylinders. Anyone else had to replace this brake master cylinder yet. I didn't do any brake work, it looks like new parts and I've had the truck for about 4k miles, 119k total miles.  When it started to throw codes I did the calibrations with a bidirectional scanner and got the codes to clear but they came back so I did the routine; base bleed, automated bleed and final base bleed. All that with Bosch ES16-32N fluid (please look it up). That seemed to fix it but 100ish miles later it failed again so I ran the same process but with a pressure bleeder this time and got the same results, fixed for 100ish miles. The original fluid looked bad and I thought I got most of it out, it could've been the wrong fluid. The codes; P25A2, C05B0-00, C2A1B. I can get them to clear but not for long. The C05B0 indicates a leak in the front circuit (which is bone dry) so I'm thinking of doing the bleed process on that front again today and I don't know if that's taboo to just do the front but at this point it seems like it's worth the try anyway. The new master cylinder/module unit is supposed to get here today. But now I'm pretty much convinced this install is over my head. I've called several shops and some mobile guys that I know but this thing is like radio active material, scary wise. I did get 2 local shops say they should be able to do it, one says he has the SPS2 programing capability. And with the battery disconnected is there supposed to be pedal resistance, mine is to the floor, then if I pump it I can get some resistance. I had a panic stop prior to this issue which may have contributed from what I read. And on the first attempt to bleed and hydraulic test the scanner listed things to look for and one was any gaps between the pad and rotors which I did notice on the RF corner and I removed the outer pad (where the gap was) cleaned it and the hardware and didn't see a gap after that but will re-check it. I read that if pushing the caliper pistons back then you're supposed to open the bleeder so as to not push fluid backwards into the abs module or it will damage it. If that's true then that's also a possibility from the previous owner having the brakes changed before I got it. I'm using an XTool ip500 scanner. Any suggestions, questions and comments welcome.
    • Next Friday will be my 6 week point from my right knee replacement.  The surgeon says it will be fine if I choose to drive after this checkup.  I know I could drive now but best to do as my surgeon (and my wife) tell me.  Richard compared being 62 to 72.  I remember when I was in my early 60's I was experiencing slow but regular decline in my mobility.  Thanks to good medical support,  i continued to fight the speed and spread of this decline. During my 60's I worked on non-surgical methods and just when I turned 70, my orthopedic surgeon recommended joint replacements.  In a little over a year, I had one shoulder and both knees replaced.  This hasn't been a terribly fun experience, but worth the discomfort as my future mobility health trajectory has reversed.  It is a treat to now be watching my mobility. balance and confidence steadily improve!
