ready lift 4"sst or rought country 3.5"?

any thoughts or comparisons, pro and cons between the two.

 

whats nice about the RC is they use the moog ball joints,but have to usenew rear shocks

whats nice about the RL is extra 1/2" and they give shock ext. to keep oem rear shocks

 

the 2.5 just didnt lift mine up enough in the front, i guess becuase its a 2wd, and a z71

the ready lift however is TWICE as expensive.

BDS or Zone if you want a properly engineered 4" suspension lift.

Looks good. You used new shocks or keep oem.

 

Any one have a 4" ready lift or zone or fabtec? Which one is recommended and doesn't push the front tires out. Also I have 2wd

 

I want to put 305 BFG at on oem 20's

Of those i would choose zone. The others are incomplete, glorified leveling kits designed to appeal to those looking for a cheap kit.

Why would you want to lift a 2wd truck? Just curious

why would you want to lift a 4wd? are you actually going to utilize the suspsension lift for 4wd use? rock climbing? ground clearence? mudding? in a $50k truck? or just like the looks of it and to say yours is 4wd.

 

i rest my case. it is literally the mirror image of 4wd minus the front differential.. who cares.. rant over. coffee.

 

so anyhow, i here the fabtech 4 is good? and doesnt push tires out.

Unless fabtech now offers a complete 4" kit, the answer is no...their 4" kit is not good. But to build off your point. It baffles me to no end why People buy 50k trucks and then lift them with a garbage kit like the RC 3".

agreed blackout. is there a true 4" kit that is backwards compatable to go back stock. that doesnt involve cutting and such, and is under $6-700 bucks?

 

the zone looks exactly like the RC kit to me but 1/2 taller. am i missing something.

Even kits that require cutting of the sub frame can go back very easily. Zone should have a subframe to correct LCA, and TRE angles.

i called ready lift, and although they are more $$$, they seem legit, and their kits look top notch.compared to RC and FBTech.

anybody have the mcgaughys 4" budget kit? how is it compared to the readylift 4" kit ?

mcgauhphys kits says the use oem replacement bushings and the readylift kit say they use polyurethane bushings.

 

which is better? the readylift guys said theres are like MOOG replicas basically, but not moog.

 

and the mcgauh kit just says they use oem replacement balljoints and bushings.

I have been looking into lift options before I purchase the truck. (I tend to really analyze things). I am not sure that a 4" suspension lift "easily" converts back to stock. If I am reading the instructions correctly, you have to cut the sub frame, and the mounts off of the front differential when installing the "actual" 4"+ suspension lift kits. Even with good welding skills, I am not sure its reversible. Leveling kits and body lifts can be unbolted.

 

Unless you were actually into hard core off roading, most lifts are for looks and bigger tires. Why they don't make them from the factory that way is beyond me. With the way the new trucks ride, another concern would be preserving the quality of the ride. In addition, maintaining all of the electronic steering and not causing excessive wear to driveline components (axle joints, ball joints, etc.)

 

For me, it's basically looks and bigger tires. Off roading becomes real expensive in my neck of the woods (all rocks), been there already. From my research, it appears that the BDS 4" kit is probably the way I will go, if I man up and spend big ching. However, if I can get roughly the same look with a leveling kit and a body kit, it is pretty enticing and about 25% of the cost of the BDS kit.

 

Anyone have any comments or experiences they would like to share?
