HID question

So i currently have (sorry for the repeat questions.... the HID thread is great but at that length gets a little confusing)

 

HID kit

AM I GOOD TO GO WITH THESE PARTS???

 

Assuming im following the checked diagram

If you have reflector headlights then do all the other drivers on the road a favor and go with LED headlights or get projector headlights before upgrading to HIDs. It will be to your benefit and the benefit of others on the road.

 

But to answer your question,

 

With a 35W kit you will need HID kit, wire harness, and error decoders

 

With a 55W kit then you should only need HIDs and wire harness.

ive always used HIDs with my reflectors never had issues.... this was with my trailblazer of course so lower than the truck.... i am keeping an eye out for factory LTZ headlights that i can swap in (dont like the look of the u bar ones)

Are the capacitors in the diagram the error decoders?

Bump.... Another question..... in the diagram the top (dual input) diagram it doesnt show a reversed factory input to the HID.... is this a mistake or is there something in that wiring set up that requires it to be "normal"??

I'm trying to figure this out now also. I have read the other thread before, but it's way to long now. Also, no one replied to my questions and I'm hoping to order tomorrow.

 

I'm trying to make sure I can go 55 watt on my projector low beams without certainly having issues with others or more importantly without getting pulled over. I want to do 55 watt high and low beam then use 35 watt for fogs and not need to do the light bar behind the grill. If I can't drive with 55 watt lows I will switch to 35 watts and see if the want a light bar after. I also want the blue look of the 6000K, so will the 35 and 55 watt match in the same color?

Ever since Motomedic has not been able to get on here much that thread and some others have gotten extremely cluttered. He used to help keep the threads shorter and much more imformaitive than just people shooting the breeze

to answer some questions I can tell you have, yes 55W HIDs can be used on the road with no issues if you have projectors. I have them in mine and haven't had a single issue with law enforcement. They looks stock.

Of course you wouldn't have "issues". It's the other poor sons-a-bitch drivers that have issues with a HID reflector equipped vehicle. Everything probably looked nice and bright from your end.

Awesome! The 55W HIDs really add a lot of light out front. I still have 2 LED bars, one 20" and one 30" but that's just for added light. I honestly don't even use my high beams anymore. I use my 2 bars and my LED pods in my fogs. I don't even use my highs to flash people. I usually use my bars during the day and my pods at night.

 

Here's an example of the 55W 5000K in Sierra projectors

 

First is from outside the truck and the second is through my windshield with 45% tint on it

 

 

Edit: just read your post in the HID projector/bulb retrofit thread. Only a wire harness is required with 55W bulbs

i meant ive never got flashed or pulled over for it or anything. These new lights throw a pretty nice beam with a well defined cut off
