Apps, like weather?

Probably already covered somewhere, but I can't get my tippy tappy appy to search well.

How do I get weather on my mylink? I see the icon in pics all the time, but I don't have it. Also, can I add maps? I just have the imported routes. No actual map.

I guess a better overall question is; can I update and add items to my mylink system after the fact?

If there is already a good post, I'd gladly take a link in the reply. ;)

Thanks all,

I contacted someone about that, and they said that the weather on there only comes with Nav. So the only way to get weather is to have the Nav. At first I wanted both the Nav and weather, but I'm fine with just using apps on my phone instead of having it integrated in the truck.s MyLink.

The weather app was a add-on to the Sirius XM. It was fun during the trial, but, really, how many different places do I need to get the dang weather from? This home desktop, my work computer, TV, my company cellphone, the radio, and my personal cellphone. But who's countin?

My weather app went away when the free trial ended, so you have to get the top package from Sirius (cant remember the package) and the you get weather and traffic updates, but you also have to have nav to get it, but how do you add apps to the mylink, or cant you.

My 14 has factory nav, and weather. The 15 loaner I have doesnt have factory nav or weather, but does have Onstar nav, that I assume works as long as you have a subscription.

The 15 also wants to demo the onstar 4G everytime I start it, so I pushed the blue button once and let it demo. Under the infotainment features demo I believe it talked about dowloading apps to the mylink system. I know the 14s dont support that, but it appears that the 15s do.

i could have sworn there were suppose to be apps for the 14 that were downloadable, but i saw that in some sort of ad for the truck wayyy before i bought it.

I find the weather app very useful when in the mountains where there is no cell coverage.

Yeah I believe that was GM's plans at the time these trucks were being introduced but, nothing has been done so far.
