Just got my 2014 sierra 1500. Love it so far, but with the 6.2l, anyone telling you they are avg more than 16 mpg is full of it! But didn't buy it for mpg anyway!

Want to raise the front 2- 2.5" and the back by 1". Also I think the stock ride is a bit more firm than I would like.... Q- what is the best option to get the height and get a little softer/smoother ride?

I've read some on the king shocks, level kits, blocks in the back, bilstein 5100's ( though not available for 2014's yet)..... Two local 4 wheel shops quoting $600 to level and block rear, with alignment .... But that said not too worried about cost to get what I want , but would like to stay under $1500.

Thanks

$600 seems high. I paid $150 for my RC 2.5 $175 for my zone 1.5 I installed myself and then paid $60 for alignment. So, i have $385 tied up for 4 inches of lift up front and 1.5 out back. I would search around a little or maybe try install yourself. It's super easy.

Also, I'm probably one of few who didn't like bilstein 5100 shocks. They were very harsh riding on my 08 silverado. Although it's more expensive, I'll save up and go king in the future.

You're not going to get Fox or King shocks for under $1500 for the set of 4. It's more around the $2300 mark. Bilstein 5100 adjustable height fronts along with their non-adjustable rear are/will be the best bang for the buck.

I've had the Kings in for less than a week and not many miles. But I can tell already that the ride is much nicer. I did the rears a few days later than the fronts and the rears really changed the ride for the better.

So for education, what makes the kings so expensive and nice? Do they raise the truck as well or is a leveling kit still needed?

Aside from a quality product that varies depending on what you're looking at at, you're paying for a name. Just like Fox.

King is a small business that essentially machines nearly every part in their shocks. Then they are hand assembled. Each application requires Engineering and testing, and further product development. That's a huge investment for each application. They need to recover the investment and production costs and make a profit as well. Otherwise there's no incentives to make them.
