No cutting required?

New to the GM scene. Getting ready to purchase a new Sierra. I'm thinking about putting a lift in it but I can't seem to find a lift kit that I don't have to cut anything. I don't want to cut anything just in case I ever want to go back to stock. Is there one out there or am I just gonna have to go with a leveling kit?

Thanksw

Body lift + Leveling kit, and it's not a big deal to go back to stock after having cut for the subframe.

Hey man not doubting you or anything but I've seen you post this comment a few times and it always seems to be geared towards old style setups / NNBS (old 5" rcx) that were spindle lifts. With the new design RCX you have to completely cut the lower control arm brackets off the frame. IMO that is not just "cutting the subframe" that is major structural modifications. Yeah it could always be welded back on but that is pretty extreme on a new truck IMO. I just want to clarify the intent of your comment Again, not trying to be confrontational.

To the original poster I was in your same predicament. Against MANY MANY negative comments I went with a 3.5" RCX and a 1.5" Body Lift so I could go back to stock if so required. The 3.5" IMO is NOWHERE NEAR as bad as everybody claims. It rides just a hair stiffer than my 2.5" level. Yes the angles are extreme and in many cases people should be concerned about wear and tear (eating ball joints, tie rods, etc.) but I have a service mgr friend that I can utilize down the road under my extended warranty if I need those done. Had my Escalade 2/4 on 26s and had BJs and Tie Rods down on warranty no problem. I get this is a luxury most don't have and plays a MAJOR role in deciding on the 3.5" RCX kit but for me it ended up making the most sense, both mechanically and economically.

I bought my first '14 Sierra with a ProComp lift dealer installed, so I wasn't aware if anything had been cut for the lift. But I thought about lifting my current All Terrain, so i'd like to know if cutting is required for the ProComp kit as well.

There is cutting, you have to cut about 3" of the cross member mounting brackets. You can download the directions on their site. I would attach them but the file is a little too large.

Also, on some of them you have to cut some off of the front diff.

I think I am just gonna go with a level kit in the front and 20's or 22's. I still don't own the truck yet. Hopefully hitting the dealer tomorrow or Saturday

No worries man. I'm not always up on things and certainly welcome new knowledge. I agree that I haven't looked over what all the new full drop kits from RC entail, but most suspension kits require cutting of the rear x member pockets where the lca's mount. And correct me if I'm wrong but the suspension is unchanged on the K2 trucks? Anyway, it's not as uncommon as people think to reverse the process and not really any more complicated. I mean if you're willing to cut on a new truck, why not weld? Save all of your parts, to include the lca mounts that were cut off of the rear x member and weld them back on. Some guys over on GMFS have done it, and I've known a couple of guys that have done it. Is it work? Yeah, but it's not irreversible. If guys can straight axle a GM, you can go back to stock.

Thanks man...do you have a link to their directions. I briefly scrolled through their tech/installation section but didn't see anything for the 14's
