Replace Cargo light bulb 2014 GMC Sierra

Trying to get this bulb out of this light assembly for the cargo lights that shine into bed from top of cab. It will not twist and I do not want to force it and break it as truck is like a week old. Has anyone removed these?

 

They seem to be hitting something when you turn them. I am sure it is something stupid simple.

 

My 08 just twisted out and you could remove them.

Twist it. does take some force as they are a tight fit. Not sure why thats the case. I changed mine out for LED, and was slightly shocked that it took a good bit of force.
