Locked out of my truck "Automatically"

Today in my driveway, I turned my truck off, got out and shut the door with the keys in the ignition. ( 2011 Avalanche) I was only going to be less than a minute to return. Anyway, as soon as I shut the door, walked away and about 5 seconds later the horn chirped!! Went back and all the doors were locked!!

 

As anyone heard of such a situation?

My truck is set to do that if I press the lock button once as I get out. Since it has been set that way for nearly 5 years now, I have to pay attention when getting out for something quick. It is such a habit that I have done that with the engine running. Luckily there was a passenger to unlock the door. Also have to remember to always take the keys at gas stations just in case I hit the lock on the way out of the truck by habit.

Is yours set to do the delay lock(that is what it is called)?

That happen to me on a fishing trip. Had to call trip a they got it open with a slim Jim. Hit the lock button by accident when shutting the door. Very easy to do. I had a 07 Avalanche

As stated it's a setting on the DIC, you will need to change that if you don't want that to happen.

I've had that happen to me before....but it was because my daughter hit the lock button on accident when she hopped out of the truck.

 

I would definitely check the DIC settings.
