drivetrain break in

So I'm about to fire up my truck for the first time in months. I pulled the trans and t case out to replace the flexplate months ago and it got brushed to the side and igored because other things came up. I'm planning to have it running tomorrow afternoon but I have a question. Given that I allow enough time to warm up and for everything to "settle" before I move it and I ease into it, would it be okay to tow on Saturday? Truck is an 04 6.0 with 4l80e. I had a minor accident in my primary car and I can't afford to tow it home on a wrecker. I can get a trailer on my truck and tow the car home though and it would be well within my truck's capabilities but I just want some opinions as to whether or not it's a good idea to tow right away after sitting for months.
