Question about Max Trailer (NHT) option

Awesome...can you take a picture of your payload sticker? Also what tires were included? Thanks!

I'm showing my ignorance here, but where can I find the payload sticker for my truck? I see the tire presure sticker on the inside of the driver door...is that it?

The other sticker is on the bottom of the B pillar.

Look down....way down....I couldn't find it at first either!

But I think it just has GVWR and GAWR's, rather than a payload number. Payload figure would depend on where in the vehicle the weight was added.

The fleet site has option weights only. I presume it's all the fluids but fuel. In your situation you're probably right on the weight front. For our family we have one more person than seats in the truck so we take two vehicles everywhere. 26*6.3 ~ 164lbs plus 430 lbs of self-loading baggage plus about 200lbs of bikes, coolers etc. All of our stuff that fits is loaded in the RV but with the massive tw it still puts us over our gvwr but under the gcvwr

Curb weight is the total weight of the truck with full tank of fuel, no cargo, no passengers or driver.

It actually provides payload capacity specific to the options on the vehicle without deletes. (see: http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2014/08/gm-commits-to-standard-payload-calculations.html) Subtracting payload from GVWR will give you actual vehicle weight with full tank of fuel but no driver. In my case the available payload is 1499lbs (just below the seating capacity). If you use the order guide weight calculator you get the same solution.

You are absolutely right...you and I were posting at same time. Guess I've been fudging my numbers on the conservative side.

I'd be curious to know how this compares to other Sierra 1/2 tons!? (1,843 pounds)

What tires did they include on your truck? Under your seating capacity on that sticker what is the payload? Thanks for your help!

Sorry for delay --- so running boards were swapped to the powder coated black ones (factory), bug deflector the lund one ( realized today installed over hood not around it... and the rims are off my 2010 SLT (factory rims) 18" I am running Nokian Haklleppta R2's on it for winter. I wanted to get the 20's like redwngr has posted but couldn't find a decent priced set, and the tyres would have been an additional $500.

Canopy on back-order to 2nd week of January.

Hi, guys,

Great information, but I've a different sort of question. I have a 2016 Silverado LT, with the Z82 trailering package. If I wanted to upgrade to the NHT, what would I need in the way of parts?

I have the 5.3L/6 spd automatic, z85 suspension package.

Thanks

Thanks

all 4 spring sets

new rear axle

4 shocks

Factory brake controller (not possible)

Tow mirrors

A very worthwhile package, but not really worth trying to add later

Thanks for all the great information guys. Now on to my next question, what's all the buzz about airbag kits? if a truck is rated for 9200lbs, like mine, would throwing a airbag kit and gears get me to that elusive 10,400lbs rating? I don't need to get there, I'm just wondering how else I can achieve the NHT package rating for towing if Chevy won't put the option on, after my truck is built. I'm just crunching ideas, so this is merely an exercise for me on understanding the draw/appeal for those goodies I can buy in the aftermarket that have all these great capacity ratings?

Could I put 3.73 gears in my Z85 axles? or am I throwing money away? would it raise my towing capacity?

Sorry, there is a couple of questions in there.

Thanks

You can't ever change your rating with any amount of add on parts. You may fine and well make your truck safer and more capable, but the sticker is the sticker and doesn't change. If you want your truck to be legal with a heavier weight... trade for a better equipped truck... bolting stuff on won't change a sticker rating
