They seem really similar to stockers...but if you like it, then it was worth it.

Which stockers?

There's no way I'd go bigger than 18" rims on a pickup that sees much off road use or many miles. Off road, bigger rims get torn up, on road the tires get crazy expensive.

Interested to see how the coating on these holds up, I'm betting they'll do great.

Dan,

It's a typical "triple chrome" plating process. Copper plated, polished, nickel plated, tri-valent chrome plated. You're not going to get the good old hexavalent chrome of yesteryear.

A little more straight on shot.

They look tiny.

They're an inch bigger than the Raptor 17" wheels with their 35 tires. music-smiley-019.gifsmiley_quickdraw.gif Besides...it's a big truck. I'm not a big fan of big wheels.

I'm not a fan of big rims either. Bigger than 18s look too big unless you have 44s or bigger and even then more than 20s would be too big for 44s. Doesn't matter if it's a truck or car I like sidewall on a tire, especially on a truck. For most tire sizes above 30" I think 18s look best. I didn't even mine the 16s on my 98 other than they were kind of ugly. By the way, I'm 29 so most of my age range seem to like the bigger rims.

Plus those rims have beadlocks and beadlock rims (real or fake beadlock) don't look good big unless again the tires are 44s or bigger.

They look good. And at least now they're shiny old man wheels. :jester:

Are they 18x9? What offset did you go with? They look great!

They are 18x9, 20mm offset, 5.75" backspace. They fit well, albeit close with the Cognito UCAs and the 305/60 tires.

I bought new stems and re-used the sensors. The truck is less than a year old. The sensors should go at least 5 years. I drive about 20,000-25,000 a year. They'll go at least as long as these tires and probably as long as the second set.

Spur,

Looks great, even though i'm not a fan of chrome! I've always had a special place for Fuel Anza... they were a close second to the Methods I ended up settling on.

Jealous of the king reservoirs!
