08 door latch issue, but not the usual issue

I've done some searching, but can't quite figure this one out....the issue is the drivers side door will not close if it's opened by the inside handle, but will close if opened by the outside handle. The door opens fine with either handle, but will not latch if the interior handle is used....I'm guessing it's a cable issue, but would greatly appreciate any ideas you guys may have....thx Scott

Sounds like the inside lever cable or the lever that attaches to it is hanging up. Or the return spring is fatigued or broken. Try oiling it prior to replacing it.

Lubed the the cable on the handle side and the latch....working perfect now thx 2013sierrasle

I have this same issue... how did u tale door panel off? And what did you oil it with? I build toyota corollas and the cables on them have a white grease on them...
