89 PU dash electrical short , seat belts needed

I am looking for seat belts for my 89 Silverado, the old ones that are the stationary units are needing replacement---- new or used

My dash lights and gauges go bat shit when I turn on the headlights -- I have replaced the headlight switch, dimmer switch , checked and cleaned all the grounds I could locate -

the biggest problem is it won't do it consistently -- comes and goes --- I thought about maybe a dash cluster problem ?

I can't find anything to point at yet -- thanks for all replies

Have you checked all the headlight/taillight connectors and grounds at the lamps rather than inside the cab? You might also need to trace the wiring harness to see if something has worn through the insulation to one of those wires. The inconsistency is what makes me think wiring harness. It might be something under the dash but be forewarned they are a bugger to get out. If you decide to pull the dash definitely find a good youtube video.

The only place I found new seatbelts for my '94 Sierra was LMC but they seemed pricey to me: $300. The only other option I can think of is a junk yard but you should be aware that you can use 88-98 year model belts.
