Finally have my truck... is there a break-in mode?

Well, after blood sweat and tears, I finally have my 2015.

5.3L, 6-speed auto, 3.42 gears.

I noticed something, it seems in 1st gear there's a lag in power until about 1750RPM. Is the truck in a break-in mode, or is that normal? My 2012 didn't have this lag on the pedal.

Other than that, loving this truck. The Borla exhaust is awesome.

There is flex in throttle as well as just being a lazy throttle. Takes a little getting used to.

Don't tow or wide open throttle for the first 500 miles, after that I like to change to oil and drive it anyway I like.

Sharp truck, wish I could hear that exhaust!

It's flex in the pedal mount and it also might be torque management.

Nice truck, I wish I could have afforded the crew cab with the standard 6.5' bed lol. I also wish mine didn't have the 3.08 gears but I plan on putting 3.73s in one day.

I would check the flex in the pedal. I shimmed mine and noticed a difference.

The engine and transmission go through a learn mode to help adjust to your driving style.

Yes, After a couple thousand miles the PCM will learn your driving habits. Just drive as you normally would.

At first I was thinking, "Why is it acting like this?" After 2,000 miles, the hesitation and gear-searching was gone; now smooth as glass!

Do you have the adjustable pedals? If so I don't think you'll have the pedal flex that others have experienced. Or at least mine doesn't

You both have the same taste in siding color on your houses too ha ha.

HA! great call and good looking truck. And I agree with all above, just do your thing and the truck will adjust.

It has everything on it. Bose w/Navigation (w/ 12" Kicker sub accessory), driver alert, sunroof, etc.

I also noticed the frontal driver alert gets REAL annoying in traffic if the front sensors have road salt on them.

I'm going to let it do it's 500 miles of break-in, dump the oil, and see what happens.

In the meantime I have a soft tonneau to install along with the Poplock power lock tailgate kit.

We have twins

Except I'm in rainforest green and I think you're in black. Although in the dark (or a snowstorm as was those photos) it certainly looks black.

Awesome! Then yeah since you have the adjustable pedals, I don't think you'll have that pedal flex problem. I could be wrong, so somebody correct me if I am. Enjoy the new ride

I have adjustable pedals and I've never noticed "pedal flex". Seems normal to me. Had to adjust to the transmission gear-hunting for the first month, but it's perfect now.
