What is the best option for increased reverse lighting?

Hi guys

just looking for some advice from anyone who has added additional lighting when in reverse. I find this new truck needs extra lighting when backing up especially you have a long distance to reverse and even when hooking up to trailers in the dark. I have an 07 that i find has better lighting for reversing and actually forward too, my 07 high beams show way farther than my 14's do that is for sure.

What have you found to be the best options to get lots of light in reverse?

Appreciate any help.

Absolute best option? Do the what SEMA trucks do and add a few big LED bars aiming toward the back of the truck. I'd say 2 curved 50s should do

Lol

But on a serious and realistic note, the lighting while in reverse is something I have been battling for a while. It's terrible in these K2s. I currently have 50W LEDs in the reverse and cargo lights and have the cargo lights on with reverse diode mod, plus I have a VLED license plate frame that has a few LEDs on it and produces 3500 lumens. The LPF helps a lot. Like having a flood light HID in the back. If you don't mind spending the coin and want something clean, I'd spend the money for a LPF and I'd spend another $1 on doing the cargo lights on with reverse mod. I'll edit this post and link to the LPF and LEDs I used.

I have 5K and it matches all the other LEDs in the truck. The 6K would be a slightly purer white. Just letting you know for color reference

I have had these in for almost a year and haven't had a single issue. Also they say that they will take up to 3 or 4 weeks to arrive, that's false, I ordered 2 sets at 2 different times cause I forgot about the cargos at first, and both sets came after only a week.

The High Country 2500 mirrors do an awesome job. I have them on my GMC 1500.

I have also replaced my reverse lights with LEDs. The light is somewhat brighter, not much really, but much whiter.

Oh yea, add those too ^^ I got my mirrors a week ago and still haven't wired in my white lights :/

The LPF is probably the best/easiest non-intrusive setup around. I'm really impressed with the light it puts out. I was originally planning some flush mounted LED floods in the rear bumper but after putting on the LPF I feel no need to do that.

Here's an output picture of just my cargo lights and the LPF. The LPF is doing 95% of the work in this picture. Don't remember how far away I was but I want to say the fence was at least 40-50ft away.

Hey awesome feedback from you guys i really appreciate it all, and hell keep it coming if there are any other suggestions.

that picture of the lpf looks like it throws alot of light and might do the trick for me. I was also considering the flush mount lights but they seem expensive.

Mike 1220 your first suggestion might be a bit of overkill lol but i just installed a 33" curved bar behind the A/T grille and it fits really nice but i am waiting for my wireless remote harness to arrive from Cali.

PS those HD mirrors sure do the job too but can't afford those lol

Hey Mike

Does having the lpf effect the backup camera? Cause any glow, halos, spots etc?

Very little but not much. I don't even notice any discoloration on the screen. This is a picture I took on the first night I had it. I guess the camera has adapted now possibly?

I love it. Helps even with my windows being at 8-9% [emoji4] I'll never have a vehicle without one of these things again. Both my parents one on their vehicles

Thanks Ryan that looks like another option for me to consider. Does it interfere with the backup camera or does being tucked under the tailgate hide the light form the camera?
