What is the diode mod for cargo lights? Does it make the cargo lights in the 3rd brake light come on with reverse?

yes that is what it does. Also they will come on when you unlock the truck at night if you have your reverse lights set to turn on.

I have the White Night Rear Lighting System and I love it....really lights things up!

what size bulb does it use? Is the back of each bulb covered? I wonder if a high power LED bulb like the LMZs would be able to work in there, now that would add some major light and work great as a flasher to get rid of tailgaters

Looks like the bulbs/lenses are sealed units.... http://www.discounttruckaccessories.com/details.php?ProductID=120102#

Also, according to whitenight.com...LED bulbs are not currently available for the White Night unit. LED is a much more expensive technology, and the bulbs do not give as much distance for illumination. So in effort to keep prices lower for the consumer (while still maintaining superior quality), we offer high-output halogen technology.

Anyone set up the Whitenight on the new 2014 or 2015 Chevy Silverado. Does the plug n' go adaptor stick out too far? I don't like to cut wires etc.. Any photos?

Absolute best option? Do the what SEMA trucks do and add a few big LED bars aiming toward the back of the truck. I'd say 2 curved 50s should do

Lol

But on a serious and realistic note, the lighting while in reverse is something I have been battling for a while. It's terrible in these K2s. I currently have 50W LEDs in the reverse and cargo lights and have the cargo lights on with reverse diode mod, plus I have a VLED license plate frame that has a few LEDs on it and produces 3500 lumens. The LPF helps a lot. Like having a flood light HID in the back. If you don't mind spending the coin and want something clean, I'd spend the money for a LPF and I'd spend another $1 on doing the cargo lights on with reverse mod. I'll edit this post and link to the LPF and LEDs I used.

LPF:

I have 5K and it matches all the other LEDs in the truck. The 6K would be a slightly purer white. Just letting you know for color reference

50W LEDs in cargos and reverse:

I have had these in for almost a year and haven't had a single issue. Also they say that they will take up to 3 or 4 weeks to arrive, that's false, I ordered 2 sets at 2 different times cause I forgot about the cargos at first, and both sets came after only a week.

I bought the 50w LEDs for the cargo and reverse based on Mike's recommendations and i agree they are awesome!

i am curious about that license plate frame.. i clicked the link but its a bad link - do they not sell it anymore?
