I have a Sierra see that didn't come with fog lights. Wonder what my options are? Has anyone found or have installed oem fog lights on one of these yet? Wondering if it's plug and play, I know I would have to change the switch in the truck but would a new harness need be ran also.

Thanks in advance.

I would think that a harness would need to be ran, I wouldn't think that GM would create any extra work for themselves by running the wires for something that they aren't even putting in for you, like the fog lights.

Are you looking to have all OEM parts and have the OEM fog lights? Or are you just looking to get some fog lights?

I wouldn't recommend installing the OEM fog lights. They aren't that good. Even if you did get them you would need a different switch because the fog light control is built into the headlight switch in the cab.

A company called Rigid industries has a bracket that fits int he fog opening for a set of DOT approved LED front facing fog lights and they are stellar. I believe they come with a wiring harness, so all you would need to do is find a place to mount a switch. A lot of guys that have OEM fogs are able to wire them into the stock harness, but since your truck didn't have them as OEM equipment, I doubt the wiring harness is there.

So the harness that come with it connects to ur existing headlight/fog light button? Seeing how mine doesn't have the fog light option on my switch would I just go buy a new oem headlight/fog light switch

No, they are not PNP to the factory harness. You would either have to make a jumper with a 5202 plug or you would have to do what I did which is cut the factory harness.

The DOTs come with a plain ole wiring harness to connect them to the battery for those people who are using them as additional light and not using them to replace a light. Kinda like you in a way haha.

You can:

1) Easily use the harness that it comes with and mount the switch somewhere in the cab OR you could get a harness with a wireless remote so that you don't have to run any wires into the cab

2) if you want the fogs on whenever the headlights are on then you could wire the "trigger wire" for the harness to the headlight wire. Then your headlights would be the switch.

By the look of ur fogs it doesn't look like I would need to do any headlight upgrade. Lol

haha yea these are really strong! Very good lights for around 80-100 ft but then fade pretty quick after that. They are best within the first 40-50 ft. I would do a headlight upgrade for the long range sight.
