Air bag/lift question.

I'm really going to show my ignorance here, but here goes anyway...

I was thinking about how awesome my truck would look lifted. Then I thought about what a pain in the arse it would be to load stuff in the bed. Why doesn't anyone make a kit that rides on inflated airbags to keep you lifted up for normal driving, that you could lower to load/unload your bed and then raise back up?

What am I missing that makes this either impossible or a bad idea?

They make air ride lifts, but not like you want. Only thing I can see bad about this idea is if a bag foes bad while you're driving. Ass end drops while you have large oversized tires and somethings gonna make contact and something get messed up.

Loading a lifted truck isn't that bad. Then again, I'm 6 foot 3

its bad for us who are only 5'6" :M16:

I would like to have an air ride kit like this. I know that they are made for HD trucks. Never seen one made for a 1500

I must be weak, or loading heavier stuff than you. I'm almost 6' 2" and I think it's a P.I.T.A.! Or maybe I should stop loading things over the side?! Hehe

Maybe I'm thinking of it the wrong way. Maybe I should be looking for a hydraulic setup like the ghetto rides in the city? They seem to be able to ride up in the air or slammed to the ground. Something about 16 switches for the... dogs. :pimp:

Since no one makes a air ride system like we are talking of for a 1500, a hydraulic system would be the only option. Ride high in that Denali and go low down town lol.

This is what I was thinking of:

https://kelderman.com/

No support for 1500's though sadly

thats what I was thinking of. I have seen a lot of people use kelderman kits in the rear only and use a standard lift in the front. I know that would cut down on cost a lot, if they made a kit for a 1500, I would be interested. It would be nice to lower the back end a bit if needed.

If anyone has the gumption to make this idea a reality, I hear by claim I was the first to think of it. I should get some kind of royalties, right? Oh, and I want prototypes and the first build. This forum is legally binding... :rollin:

I'm just letting you know, if I ever decide to try to make this a reality, I never saw this post [emoji6]

But chances are, i won't try it. At all haha. Unless someone else can make a working prototype. Then they can use my truck as the test vehicle.

It'd ride smooth as hell though. It would be pretty awesome
