Installed the Kicker 200 Watt Powered Subwoofer Kit this weekend!

Did the install by myself, took about 2 hours, with me taking my sweet ole time. Like everyone stated in the thread about the install, hardest part was getting the power wire through the fire wall grommet. Once that was through, the rest was a breeze. Be careful behind the dash if you do this install, as some of those parts are sharp! I have a few cuts that I didn't even feel happen, and just noticed some blood dripping down my hand.

 

Product Review is great. When I listed to music through my ipod (media button), the bass is clean and crisp and over all sound in the truck is great. When I listen to music through the radio, the bass seems a bit sloppy. It's not bad by any means, just not as crisp as the media. I am not sure if it is because of the radio signal or what.....but either way I am still happy. I keep playing with the settings on the radio to find the sweet spot.

 

I love that this tucks under the rear passenger side seat. Packs a nice little punch for the size of it and being 1 10" Sub.

I know you were looking for new black lug nuts to replace your pro comps as am I. The finish on the pro comps is coming of left and right and is pretty beat up already.

 

These seem to have really good reviews and the price is right. Some of the reviews say the finish is super tough and holding up well.

Haha, figures I would find these after you ordered some. Let me know how you like the gorillas, I'd be willing to order either set. The DP look like they have some other application than paint, so might hold up well. Keep me posted!

Thanks, I really appreciate the heads up though. I was just in a hurry, and went with Gorilla since I have used them before. They look to be a better finish, very similar to the ones that you linked. So I am guessing they'll hold up a crap ton better than the ProComp garbage lugs.

 

I really wanted to go with McGard, since I used those on my G8 for 4yrs with no issues.....but Mcgards were like $150.

Do you happen to know if this same part will work with a 6.2 with the active noise cancellation and Bose?

Yup, I believe it will work. There was a trick to getting it to work with noise cancellation though. It's in the long Kicker thread.

Happy 1yr Birthday to my truck!

 

17471 Miles

 

Took me a few sets of wheels to find what I like, but I'm very happy with how it sits now. Only change I can picture is going from the Cooper ATP to the Cooper STT PRO for a more aggressive pattern. I'm not sold on that yet though, as I need good snow performance too. Going to keep kicking that idea around.

I was thinking of doing rear shocks at the same time, since the Rancho seem to bounce a bit. But, I want to feel the sway bar difference, then feel the shock change difference.

I had mine on just to see how it feels, and to me its a good thing. Its gonna keep that rear end from swaying/leaning around corners as designed. I suggest that you ensure you wear a seat belt (if you dont already) because its a noticeable difference. You'll sway before the truck does.

 

My truck goes into the shop next month for all my suspension upgrades (including Bilstein 4600's) that I have accumulated.

 

(Been wanting to get the car audio stuff out of the way first).

Yeah I got the whole Hellwig package last year with the Wilwood 16's/14's, Bilsteins F&R, Beltech 4601 shackles and a few other goodies which will be going on when I get done with the audio. Just too many projects and I dont want to keep bouncing back and forth.

 

I have already had the rear Ranchos replaced for not being in spec. Evidently GM had a large number of them with contaminated oil in them and it was causing problems with load on them. I just dont think the react quick enough to keep road imperfections out of the cab. I am hoping the Bilsteins are a bit better and I will be happy!

 

BTW the front Hellwig is a BEAST of a bar!
