What do you carry for your CCW?

Please tell me why you carry? Is it based on crime in your area or your job?

For me it was several reasons...when I started carrying I was living in AZ which had a significant criminal element, but I also looked at the area I grew up in which is rural PA and when I was a kid, people didn't even lock thier doors...now, even up there in the country, people have seen home invasions and burglaries...

For me it's, as was stated before, like wearing a seat belt, or having insurance...its not that I'm afraid that something is going to happen, but in the event something does happen, you have an added level of protection.

In this day, you never know where a criminal will strike and police can't be everywhere, especially in rural areas (where I grew up in PA, police response was well over 30 minutes).

As the old saying goes...

"Why do you carry a gun?"

"Because I can't carry a cop..."

I have several guns but don't carry. I don't feel the need to. I support the rights of anyone who does though. Please tell me why you carry? Is it based on crime in your area or your job?

I got jumped by two guys. Still makes me mad thinking about it. Not gonna be a victim again.

I've been jumped myself. Took brass knuckles to the back of my head and a Jordan to the top mount head.

I was leaving a friend's house and two fat 40something dudes came up to me asking for my cell phone. Before I know it I'm on the ground and one of them is strangling me while the other just sat there watching. They took off when a car started honking. No idea what that was about but that won't happen to me again.

I think my dumb 19 year old self slept with someone's woman. I didn't necessarily ask for the reason. I have her name to cops and they got the guys.

Didn't conceal it today since I'm just in my garage/driveway, have before though. Suspenders and a good belt work wonders if I did conceal this more often.

I carry a M&P 9c. Always have it on me. Switching to a glock 19 after the holidays. I don't need to carry where I am, but like everyone has said, I sure as hell won't be a victim. Went a step further and got my Utah CHL as well as my Oregon CHL. 32 different states to carry in. Might as well be prepared.

Sig P290 9mm most of the time.

Glock 33 .357Sig if I need a little more cap and firepower.

Ruger LCP .380 if I just need a pocket pistol.
