GM Borla exhaust

Just ordered the GM Borla exhaust....how easy is it to install?

Very easy! You may want to cut the OEM exhaust in half to make it easier to remove. Don't tighten everything up until it's all installed and adjusted.

Got off work at 5pm tonight and began the install, was done at 6:15. I didn't even lift the truck, just used my creeper. I cut the stock muffler pipe just after the muffler using a dremmel with cutting wheel. The exhaust came right out. Install was super easy. I do have one minor issue that I don't know how to solve. It seems right after the cat, the first pipe is resting on the frame. My system seems aligned, but it is indeed resting on the frame right at the expanding section just after the cat.

U have to bend up the bracket right at the crossmember. Either heat it up or uninstall it. Mine did the same thing.

Thank you, going to try this today by uninstalling and swinging my 5# hammer

It took 10 minutes to unbolt, remove the pipe, bend the bracket with my hammer and re-install. rumble at 1000 - 1100 rpm is gone. Thank you, this fix was very easy!

I'm glad this got brought up. With my Gibson there is a sporadic slight vibration/drone sound between gear shifts that I couldn't figure out. It doesn't happen all the time but is mildly annoying when its there. I checked and sure enough, the pipe is resting on the first cross member of the frame also. Will have to adjust mine also.

I haven't had it dyno'd but seems to breathe better with CAI and exhaust, maybe a little more power. Gibson has dyno sheets on website showing around 20 hp for my 6.2l.

Just a trick I figured out, I put a jack under the muffler to raise it a bit before I re-tightened all the bolts. Good luck, the fix works!
