Have a hard time seeing rainforest green metallic matched well to bedliner. I want to go to the bottom of the body line on the door. I just don't think it'd look right

you might be right. Ive seen in it white bad black. Personally depending on how metalic it is, it might be hard to get anything to match. Maybe try Vinyl?

That's why I'm saying, either clear coat chip guard, which goes over the paint, or clear chip guard tape

If that's all you're worried about, don't. I had it done on a previous truck (metallic Pewter) and it was fantastic. Perfectly matched with the metal flake showing and everything. Go to a Line-X place and tell them what you want. They'll work with you on where to spray and where not to, cut lines, etc. Then ask them to mix up a small amount to do a test spray for color. They can spray anything, old piece of wood, a cardboard box etc. Or bring some thing with you. They really can do some fantastic stuff now.

I have the entire front end done with 3M Clear bra. I think this is a must if you have the painted bumper High Country, but a good idea on any truck given than the front end is a huge flat rock and bug magnet.

 

I would recommend you have it professionally done. I have done some of it myself in the past, it's not easy and the large areas like bumpers require quite a bit of skill and are a two person job. I do the little flat areas myself, like rockers and door sills, but the front bumper with all it's angles and curves....I would pull my hair out trying to get it flat/aligned/bubble free. Believe it it's harder than it looks, I tried.

Get mud flaps. If you already have them then mak them longer. I did and the paint removal system is cured.

this is what i'd like to do. However, i have quite a few chips on the lower part of my doors and in front of the rear tire (front of rear fender) and i don't think the clear bra would apply well over all the chips. I'm not sure how to fix it or what the best approach would be.
