I purchased a 2014 Silverado High Country in Feb. 2014. It seeme to be. Great purchase, nice warm heated seats, sunroof, navigation, all the bells no whistles - a definite step up from my 2008 Silverado LT. Then the problems started... The sunroof rubber track came loose, my heated seats overheated and stopped working. When they "fixed" my heated seats they were barely warm and told me this is how they are supposed to be, that my seats had been malfunctioning and were not supposed to be hot, that they work on body heat. Also, the driver and passenger have 2 different max temperatures. Then my console latch broke, my sunroof track broke again, navigation and backup camera malfunctioned, the bolts behind the steering wheel shaft came loose (apparently were not tightened enough in the factory), there is a rattle in my passenger seat, and finally, the air conditioner locked up, the compressor blew and the belt melted (you could see piece of the belt under the hood...). I have 3 cases open with GM, it's been in the shop way more than a new, $50k truck should be. I'm honestly a little fearful thinking what will happen next. What is the next thing that will overheat, lock up or come loose.

The dealership says I should not worry since it is under warranty and I get a loaner (but the loaners they give are not comparable to the vehicle I purchaed from them and I end up with them for several days to a week at a time) and it's a pain to deal with all of these problems (take time off work, worry about the issues, etc).

My 2008 with 130k miles was a dream compared to this. Has anyone had issues like these? What was your outcome?

Ouch, this sounds horrible.

Search these forums. Although some of your issues aren't common, the heated seat issue is, as well as problems with the navigation system. How's your transmission shifting?

It doesn't shift well at all. You can feel it sort of jump, especially if you brake but don't completely stop feels like it's going to drop. We've taken it in for that but they say its normal...

Same problems here with my 2014 GMC Denali. Heated seats several times, heated steering wheel, rusted frame, radio reception, head light issues. My dealer had it 4 times for almost a week every time. They are fixing things but even though they did the frame I know it will come back. The heated seats went with only 1,800 miles on it so I don't expect them to last long again. I purchased at least 22 new GM vehicles and this one is the only one I've owned with so many problems. I wonder how much this will hurt me when I go to sell it and all this shows up on a car fax.

Green 1364 - I also have bad radio reception and if I play music from my phone its often spotty.

I have asked for them to buy it back. It is under review.

Worst part is I wouldn't want another GM.

Holy cow 17 updates? I wonder how many my truck needs. It's been built since early last year, sat on the lot since July, and I bought it in Dec.

So the heated seat "work on body heat"? I did not realize that they were IR activated. GM is more advanced than I thought.

File a defect notice and force GM to buy it back and give you a new one.

No, take the money and run!

Just got the truck back. They looked up my records and it's been in the shop under repair 8 times since Nov 2014! And as I was driving back I noticed a vibration in my seat and steering wheel... Ugh.

As far as the heated seat thing, they told me they are body heat activated because GM didn't want you to be able to turn them on to heat them up and then burn yourself. I wanted heated seats so that when I got in my truck the seat would be warm for my drive to work, not for it to finally get warm after my 20 minute drive in... This truck does not meet my expectations one single bit.

From what I've read people without heated/cooled seats work better. They actually get warm. Mine I just left on high for a 3 1/2 hour road trip and you can barely tell they are on at all.Does anyone know for sure if all these repairs will show up on a car fax? If so...would you buy it ? Kimbarnes how many miles on yours? Mine only has 3,600 on it.
