Thoughts on trading in 2014 on a 2015??

I have definitely been thinking about all options. My dealership told me I could trade my truck and they would pay it off so I would be clear there. Then the new one would run around 5k more than my 2wd which is about right if I order one. I just don't want to wait 2 to 3 months like the lady at GM told me it was gonna take if i ordered one.

Northside, the only issue the wife and I have is finding jobs there. Here in Houston the wife and I both have jobs in the oil and gas industry. If we can find work then Colorado we'll be our next adventure. I just want to say that i absolutely love the views there. When we drove with the kids last October we stayed the night Amarillo ( that drive was long and dreadful because there was nothing to look at, lol). Drove into the tip of New Mexico ( those mesas were awesome). Then stopped at Royal Gorge Bridge ( down right beautiful ). Then stayed one night in Denver. I stared at the Mountains until the sun went down. Then we drove through boulder to Estes Park and stayed a few days. Rocky Mountain National Park was Awesome!! Then drove into Fort Collins for the remainder of the stay to see if we liked it. We drove during rush hour in both Fort Collins and Loveland in the morning and evening. Piece of cake compared to wear we live. Then drove home. I honestly love Texas but I feel that Colorado has different outdoor adventures to show my family ( without all the traffic, lol ). We can't wait to try it. Any tips on fun things to do do with my wife and kids that are a must do??

If you're happy with the truck you have then maybe look at a good used jeep for the price difference of trading in the truck you have for a new one. I got rid of my 98 Z71 4X4 for my 14 silverado LT 2wd & kept my 06 jeep tj for the price difference of another 4X4 truck.

If yiou thought the Front Range and Rocky Mountain Park was beautiful, and it is, you need to see south western Colorado. When you come up from New Mexico take I 25 to Walsenburg then west on Highway 160 over La Veta pass through the San Luis Valley to Pagosa Springs and over Wolf Creek Pass to Durango. Then up to Silverton over Highway 550, the Million Dollar Highway, and Red Mountain Pass to Ouray, The Switzerland of America. There are several ways back if you go up Highway 550 north toward I 70. Even I 70 from Grand Junction east to Denver is pretty. Those views in the southwestern part of the state, are the best I've ever seen. Not much work down there though.

That's what I figured on work. That trip sounds awesome though. I heard the Rockies get bigger the further you go up towards Canada. I guarantee my family and I will always have trips to go on. We want to take them to Yellowstone too. I can't wait.

Btw, i gotta get used to the altitude change because Estes Park was horrible until I went to an oxygen bar for a little relief. Lol

Pretty country around Yellowstone and up to Glacier in Montana, but Southwestern Colorado has them beat in my opinion. Funny but Mt, Elbert, Colorado's highest Mountain, is easy to climb by just walking uphill. It's just south of Leadville. There are roads up Pikes Peak and My Evans. I believe Mt Evans highway will take you to over 14,000 ft. It's right out of Idaho Springs, Colorado and around 50 miles from Denver. The town of Leadville is over 10,000 ft. Folks from sea level often have "altitude sickness" when coming up here. We're just used to it. Your truck will notice the difference too. You lose quite a bit of power due to the lack of oxygen in the air.

The Canadian Rockies, I'm not too familiar with. They have a lot of bears up there, we do too, but they won't let me into Canada with my gun.

Lololol. I have a friend that lives in the Rockies in Canada and it is Amazing there from the pictures I've seen. The altitude played a little part in my current 6.2 losing a little power but I couldn't tell a huge difference. But I was only between 4500k to 10k at the highest in RMNP. I hope to get used to the altitude though. It would be a major bummer if i couldn't get used to the altitude.
