How to remove scratches?

Recommended Posts

I found this scratch on my door with some white paint transfer. I used some rubbing compound and got the white paint off. What is left looks silver, like it could be down to the metal. I can't feel the scratches at all. They're completely smooth. Not sure if this is because I used the rubbing compound or because they're not really down to the metal. Not sure what to do next.

if it is smooth and you can't feel the scratch that is likely still more paint transfer left on your truck. if you can't get it off let a body shop buff it.

Feeling smooth is like when you like when you pull a girl home from the bar, it's usually a good thing! More than likely it is just paint transfer and you just need to get buffer on there. For the hell of it try using citrus cleaner on it like Goo Gone. I did that a few years back and it worked surprisingly.

also if there are scratches there that you are not able to get out a body shop can also sand and polish to get rid of very bad scratches

I second the goo gone. Just make sure you rinse it all off well.

WD-40 also will help, spray it on the scratch directly, and rub

As long as you cant feel a scratch with your finger nail most of the time it can be buffed out
