Help,with camper mirrors

im looking at a 2015 2500 hd built after aug 14. its pretty loaded LT except for the camper mirrors. is it possible to install those new style ones on this truck? i believe they are the DPN option code? thanks

Yes. You may or may not have to replace the door wiring harness.

 

Due to content differences, some vehicles may require the drivers and passengers door harnesses to be replaced. To determine if the door harness needs to be replaced, inspect connector X510 (Pins 5 and 13) and connector X610 (pins 5 and 13). If ANY of the cavities are empty, the door harnesses MUST be replaced with a door harness for DPN mirrors. The Parts Department will need to turn the VIN filter off and look up the door harnesses for the truck, but substitute the mirror RPO with DPN.

 

22960561 and 22960562 are for gas trucks. 22960561 and 22970653 are for diesel.

thanks, I wonder if the small mirrors have the turn signal built in? would that be an indication that the campers would work?

Only the LTZ power regular(non camper) mirrors have the signal in the glass. The power regular (non camper) mirrors on LT trucks do not have signal in the glass.

wow, very confusing. it looks like the DL8 mirrors on this truck really wont convert to the DPN camper ones without alot of wiring mods. anyone done this. 2015 built after aug. LT DL8 mirrors on it now. anybody out there let me know,thanks

There is a 60 page thread about it in the for sale forum. Luckily I have an LTZ and didn't need to do much extra to get my new towing mirrors to work properly. That thread should give you allll the info you need and then some! Also, I think the mirror part numbers posted earlier are wrong (atleast for the newer style towing mirrors with power fold and all)

Have you or the dealer checked the door harnesses?

I checked the pass door harness plug for the mirror and it has pins missing. there are 4 pins that are not used for the mirrors on the truck now. do I need new harnesses?
