2014 6.2 was stuck in gear

Yesterday, I took a drive out to the Home Depot. The truck was running fine with no issues. However, when I went to leave the truck wouldn't start right away. Wouldn't even crank. A couple of tries and it reluctantly fired up and threw an engine code.

The strange thing is that when I went to drive off the throttle response was way worse than normal. It took forever to get up to speed when I realize that it wasn't shifting and was stuck in gear (my guess is 4th). I tried throwing it into manual shift mode but that did nothing. I also tried restarting it a few times with the same result.

Later that day it returned to normal and seemed to drive just fine. Today the code finally disappeared and all is back to normal.

Has anybody else ever experienced this or know what happened?

Sounds like my first 14 silverados radio. Sometimes I would get in it and the radio would go to full blast on an AM station and I couldn't even turn it off or down. I would have to stop the truck, get out and disconnect the battery for it to reset. It was quite comical when it happend in a chick fil a drive through at the window. They must have thought I was crazy.

You need to have your service department take a look. The pickup will have that code stored in the CAN system's memory. It's also a good idea to take it in so the concern is documented in GM'a national service history.

It sounds like it went into limp mode. Most of the features will not work once and engine light goes. IE the button shift I'm sure they shut other things off.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have an appointment with the dealer today for another issue but will have them take a look and scan the code.
