2014 w/ 34,500 miles vibration issues

Well aware of the vibration issues @ varying speeds w/ these trucks. I have made a point on a few occasions to have the service dept. @ my dealer to note in their system that I've mentioned this issue. During the winter as it got worse I wanted them to actually look into fixing it (my vibration is bad and noticeable from 60-85mph) - they declined at the time because I had my winter tire/wheels on.

Now that I am nearing the expiration of full warranty coverage & have the stock setup back on (which actually seems to vibrate worse) I am going through the steps of getting it fixed - they tried balancing to no avail (the service mgr and I both knew this wouldn't work) today they have techs coming in to check the gears and driveshaft, if they can't find a fix will be giving me a loaner truck and when I asked what would ultimately happen should they not be able to find a solution was told "they would work something out for me" whatever that means.

Will keep you posted.

mine is in the shop now with 14,000 miles and its the 5th time trying to get the vibration out. they blanced the tires 3 times and put new gears in the rearend as they where way out of specs. but i told them dont even think about giving me the truck back until it is fixed.

Have you had this problem for 34k miles or has it developed over time?

My truck has 35k miles on it now. No vibration, but this issue always makes me nervous when I keep seeing people with it.

It has pretty much been there all along w/ varying degrees of severity, I'm just @ the point where I don't want to live w/ this for 5 more years if something can be done about it while still under warranty. They checked out the driveshaft/gears today but apparently going to need alot more time with it, so they are giving me a loaner.

They also tried swapping out rims/tires from a new 2015 sitting on the lot and that did not do much if anything to help it.

I just had mine in for the vibration issue, tech could not find it of course. Told me it could be the tires and suggested that they be road force balanced... I said ok, then service manager said that it would be $100.00 and that I would have to pay for it because tire balancing is only covered up to 6,000 miles? I said no thanks, I'd rather go to a tire store where they actually balance tires full time and won't charge me an absurd amount. Service manager also said to come back and ride along with a tech since I know how to make it vibrate.

The ole Viberado! Good Luck bud, my vibrating is not that as others. I only get mine around 30 mph and it goes it rather quickly

i only get mine at 50mph over or under gone. i will say the stock gears in mine where worn out with only 14,000 miles. they just called and said there replacing the drive shaft.

What is vibrating? Seat, steering wheel, etc? I have a regular cab and the middle fold down shakes at around 75-80 periodically. Not all the time just every now and then for a mile or so then stops. Felt the seat underneath the fold down area and didn't feel any vibrations. Is this what yall are talking about. I don't feel anything in the wheel or seat though.

Mine has been in the shop for 60+ days now waiting on the Pico machine and I have a feeling it will be the first of many stays.

Well there is hope boys! Just got my 14 Sierra Crew SLT back yesterday and I'm tentatively calling it fixed (95% sure, have to drive it more to be sure).

It had a vibration only in the steering from 65-75kph originally. First service they replaced 2 tires and returned it with a worse vibe. 2nd service they replaced another tire and returned it slightly improved but not as good as it was originally. 3rd service they replaced the drive shaft, returned it with a dramatically worse vibration 60-80kph, that could be felt in the whole truck and a slight vibe at nearly all speeds.

So then I went in and ranted at the service manager for 20 minutes about a week after 3rd visit. He booked it in for the next day, then the service level improved quite a bit. Had a loaner waiting for me.

They had it for 11 days (due to waiting for parts) and replaced the rear diff gear case, crown and pinion gears and bearings. I believe they also rebalanced the drive shaft or possibly put the old original one back on. Boom, they got it, after I had lost all faith in them they turned around and redeemed themselves. I don't know if I'll ever think highly of GM again though, that's kind of ruined for me.

Also had them apply the headlight upgrade while it was in, it's a noticeable improvement I'd say.

So now after 2 months of dicking around with that I think I'm a happy camper, fingers crossed. Truck has 3800km on it now, was built and purchased in Sept/14.

All of you guys having driveline/vibration problems should really post a complaint at the site below;

http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchSafetyIssues

Its a website ran by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and lets you check for recalls under your vin. And also complaints based on make/model/year. This is a good tool for shoppers and current vehicle owners as it spreads the word on current issues certain vehicles are facing. For example if you look up 2014 GMC Sierras the biggest complaint is headlight output. This may not get an immediate reaction from GM but its spreads the word that others may be having similar issues.

I've seen this vibration issue discussed on these forums dozens of times, with few actually getting resolved.

Hi crushNchowda,

I apologize for the vibration you're experiencing in your truck. However, I'm happy to hear you've been actively involved with your dealership. Please note that I have documented your feedback within our systems. If we can do anything to help, let us know!

Got the truck back over the weekend, first chance to take it on the highway this morning and it turns out not only do I still have vibration issues, they're WORSE. Before the vibration was noticeable in the seats and center console (noticeably the passenger seat when empty) and now it is more dramatic @ 75mph (great for highway driving eh?) and the vibration is visible in the column shifter and steering wheel! I never had vibration noticeable there before bringing my truck in for it.

They road force balanced all 4 tires, they ran it w/ a new 2015 trucks wheels on it still shook, they adjusted the driveshaft twice and whatever they did made the vibration worse and occur @ different speeds. Also - during the course of figuring out whatever they needed to they put 350 miles on it!!!!!!!!!!!!! For a truck that was already near the end of full warranty coverage that's BS and I didn't want that kind of miles put on it anyhow! They said they'd extend the warranty coverage additional miles it was driven during troubleshooting.

I'm ticked off.

When I first received this truck the rear driver's door had a trim panel that didn't belong (wasn't the All Terrain "carbon" look trim, some other grey plastic) - that should've been a warning sign as to how poor the quality control was/is on these trucks - how that could make out the factory is scary when you think of what else could potentially be wrong as well.
