What DiabloSport Settings Are You Running?

Sup guys,

I just got my InTune and setup the 87 octane Mpg booster with hard shift on my Sierra. I don't know much about the other settings, so I wanna get a jist of it from y'all's own custom settings. What settings are y'all runnin?

Try setting throttle boost to 15% it helps with the lack of response in the throttle. Also Try turning off torque management in TCM, I feel it makes my engine run stronger, well the exhaust sounds different anyways.

will do. i saw you have +5 shift pressure from one of your posts in another topic. how's that going for you?

running hard shifts and 91 octane tune. wanting to do some playing with mine and change the throttle response and torque management.

So, I'm about to get a new truck (6.2) and one of the first things I'm going to do is level, new wheels, and 305/55/20's.

With a tune, I want to:

1. adjust speedo for new tire size,

2. increase throttle response, and

3. possibly help mileage a little.

Are all of these things possible from Diablo without getting a custom tune?

I doubt you will be able to make up the mileage from the increased tire size tho.

Depends on the tires, if they're like my 305's they're about the same weight as stock because of being xl instead of Lt. My 305/45r22 on dub ballers weigh less than gm 22's with bridgestones.

I believe terra grappler, dynapro atm and cooper zeon are all available in the lighter p/xl metric.

I have the trans set to shift as hard as poss with no tm and highest line pressure and it doesn't seem to shift much harder than stock. Even with just a 5.3, this thing should be able to bark the tires a bit on a 1-2 shift.

Ya I've decided I'm getting a Lew tune soon. The testimonials speak for themselves.

Agreed. I bought the package deal from him, I just haven't data logged anything yet to send to him.

Thanks. I didn't figure I would make up for all of it, but just hoping for a little. I've heard guys with the 295/55 or 305/55 losing 3-5 mpg. Hoping I could take that back to maybe 2-3... We shall see. I don't even have the truck yet.

Hell, I went from a 275/55/r20 to a 285/55r20 and lost about 2 mpg. Mostly around town, the stop and go really kills the mileage now. On the highway maybe lost 1 mpg. They are considerably heavier tires than stockers.

I went from 275/55r20 stock all terrain rims with GY Sr-A to 305/45r22 Hankook Dynapro ATM. They're a 6 ply instead of 4 or 3 what ever the good years are. I weighed them myself on my scale and the stock wheels were 79lb new wheels are 84. Apparently gm stock 22's are around 89lb. I havent noticed a change in mpg at all.

305/55r20 nitto terra grappler g2 they're light as well, 50lb. That's 10lb heavier than the stock good year which are 39.5. This would bring you to 89lb which is the same weight as the stock 22" setup.

    • How many years have I pointed out every point in that link to the folks here and been avalanched with criticisms and outright hostilities at times? I ran counter to even the great CUSTOMBOSS and Lake Speed Jr and the half dozen experts on YouTube and in the final.....GM, Physics (Stribeck) backs that Grumpy old Bear.    Honestly, I never said a thing engineering hadn't studied silly and laid in concrete during WWII. But I'm old, the information is old and yet, the Laws of Physics are eternal.    Okay there is one exception. I vehemently disagree with their use of the word 'tolerances' when what it meant is "clearance".   The clearance is the distance between two objects. The tolerance is the degree of acceptable variation permitted in that clearance. I.E., piston to bore clearance is 0.004" with a tolerance of +/- .0002" so the clearance is in specification if it lies between 0.0038" and 0.0042". Cutting that 'tolerance in half has ZERO impact on lubrication requirements. Makes for more difficulty in manufacturing.  But a tighter clearance 'MAY'. Depends on finish. Anyway....   It's one of those statements made by people to make themselves look smarter than they are to convince people who are as un-enlighten as they seem to manipulate their behaviors. But hey, the blind leading the blind puts them both in the pit.
    • Out and about yesterday on a long Saturday drive I passed a lot of Shell stations. My preferred, so I pay attention. Lot's of small town Illinois so not six stations in three blocks like the city.    Everyone of them over a radius of say 100 miles had regular at $4.19 but one which was the one closest to home at $4.15. However Premium pricing varied greatly between 85 cents over regular to $1.50 over. I'm not counting the price of the station with the lowest regular so the reference is the same for the remainder and all within the same brand. However the spread discrepancy holds across all brands.     @txab, any thoughts on that?
    • What are your thoughts? The Chevy Blazer relaunch was an epic case of 'lunchbag letdown'. Jeep Wranglers and Ford Broncos stick out like a sore thumb.    The AI photos do not look like a 'retro version', but shrunken Tahoes. Get away from the 'futuristic look'. I've seen two concepts. One had rectangular headlight like a Rivian and the other way to big should include dual round headlights like the early version.   If not this would look OK   At least it has GM styling (albeit the K2XX) A lot of the images floating around look like Bronco IIs or the current Bronco. Looking at the Broncos in my area (central Ontario, it seems to be a mix of 2 doors and 4 doors, 'mall rated' to ones that could go offroad.    I'm sure a AT4 and AT4X RPOs could be outfitted similar to a Rubicon if the braintrust understood the whole offroad scene. Crosing my fingers that if it does see the light that the front air dam/bumper doesn't extend below the center line of the tire...
