Upper cargo tie-downs with a GM bed liner?

I purchased by 2014 Silverado used in January. It has a GM logoed bed liner, so I assume it's made for this bed. But due the height of bed liner along the bedrails, I am unable to determine if the bed has the upper tie-downs or where they might even be.

I can locate the 4 lower tie-downs in each corner of the bed by removing the little covers over those areas, but I see nothing like that for the upper ones.

If I can't access the upper ones, what suggestions does anyone have? With a few upcoming camping trips planned, I really need a way to tie down my gear.

Thanks.

They're supposed to cut holes in the plastic bedliner so you can access the upper tie down ports/openings. You still need to buy the upper tie downs separately though and install them. My dealer didn't cut the tholes in my bedliner either but I'm hoping to get a spray on bedliner soon so I haven't taken it back to them to cut the holes. I would go back to the dealer and tell them they forgot to cut the holes in your bedliner and get them to do it at no charge.

What he said.

There are two versions of the bedliners. One without the upper holes and one with the upper holes. If it is not equipped with the upper holes, you have to take a 3" hole saw and cut holes out.

My GMC has the factory spray in.

The upper tie down locations have pop out the plastic plugs so the moveable upper tie downs can be inserted at the locations to be used.

There are 6 locations where the tiedowns can be installed.

The (4) moveable cargo tie downs are RPO code CTD when ordered on a silverado. They are standard on High country and on all Sierra trim levels.

Presumably parts/accessories can get them as well.

Thank you for the information and the RPO code. My truck did not come with the tie downs.

Looks like I will have to peel back the bed liner in order to find out where to drill those holes and then order the actual tie-down hooks.

This is really frustrating because this is a truck and there should be easily accessible tie-downs all over and there isn't. I guess my hope of using one of those large cargo nets over the top of my camping gear isn't going to happen.

I have the "GM" bedliner in my truck that did not have the pre-drilled holes for the upper tie downs. I walked on the truck when I tried to buy it during the price negotiations. Got the standard call back the next day and we got close but still a few hundred off so I asked if they would throw in the bed liner and that sealed the deal. If I could do it again I would not have got the bedliner. It is very cheap and flimsy and warps in the sun, especially the tailgate liner. I also did not like that it was held in by metal screws. I am debating getting a spray in and tossing the bedliner but I like how easy it is to slide stuff on a bedliner compared to spray ins.

I bought the 4 tiedowns off of Amazon a few months back and pulled my bed liner out and cut the holes with a 2" hole saw, put in the tie downs, and then re-installed the bedliner. Turned out fine.

Same exact boat as you. I didn't know it would be screwed in either. In the past they didn't used to do that....at least on the trucks I've owned. I thought I'd get the free drop in and then upgrade to a spray on down the road. In hindsight, I wish I had just done the spray on from day 1, factored it into the loan, and been done with it.

If you don't like it, sell while it's not damaged and get one sprayed in.

There are little dimples where each of the upper holes should be cut. There is a total of 9 such dimples - 3 on each rail side and 3 across the cab side of the bed liner. Use each one to center your cut from the rear side of the bed liner. I believe that the proper size hole saw to use is 3.5 inches if you want to use the plugs that should have come with your truck.

I don't plan on moving my tie downs around plus they are easily stolen if some one wanted to. By removing the bed liner and cutting 2" holes, putting in the tie downs and then the bed liner it makes it difficult to steal them.

That's it!!! I found the dimples and was able to locate where they are.

Now I just need to get a hole saw and drill some holes.

Thanks guys for all the help, much appreciated!!!

True however...if you get a drop in and for some reason the dealer only has the non hole one and nobody mentions to grab a holed one, you'd still have to drill. GM should have just offered the holed bedliner for installation of those tie downs at any time frame either when purchased or down the road.
