Reverse Tilt Mirrors

Recommended Posts

I have a 14' CC Silverado LTZ that has the power folding mirrors. I have the curbview turned on for both mirrors. The driver side mirror tilts too far down. Is there a way to adjust it so it only tilts 1/2 the way?

Thanks in advance.

Put the truck in reverse. When they have titled all the way adjust while still in reverse where you need it.

I gave it multiple tries. It still tips down too far. If I adjust them while in Reverse they wont come back up until I hit the recall on the door. Any other ideas?

IIRC, we had a thread about this before.

I don't think there was a solution.

What I don't recall is whether they tilt down to a specific location, or whether they tilt a certain number of degrees from the normal position.

If it's degrees down from normal, then raising the up/normal position would also raise the down/lowered position.

I turned off the drivers side reverse tilt on mine.

You can't adjust the tilt of the mirrors on a 2014; specifically states in the OM that the mirror tilts down to a predetermined position. I find mine don't tilt down far enough. Maybe attach one of those small blind spot mirrors on your passenger side to give you the view you want?

I had the drivers side off because i could not figure out how to adjust it up. Trying it again.

Passenger side is fine. My issue is with the drivers side.

I turned mine off, seemed cool at first but when I back up up a trailer i have to turn them off.

I agree that when backing my trailer its not so good. Unfortunately i only back the trailer a few times a month. The rest of the month it would be nice.

I was able to adjust mine while in reverse in my '15 Sierra and then stored my driver's settings and has always gone back to that position since

The same for me I adjusted in reverse and it saved the new position

Can the users who were able to adjust was the rest of us through the proceedure? I've tried multiple things and nothing seems to keep the setting I want.

I cant tell you how to set them for when you reverse, but I can share a little trick that I use that has worked like a charm. I found that half the time I actually didn't want the mirrors to tilt like backing out of my driveway and only wanted them to tilt when backing into a parking spot or tight space. That's why I thought of the trick below.

After getting in the truck, I set the mirrors to where I would like them to be for backing up. I then set the seat/mirror memory button for the getting out of the truck/3rd memory seat location. For me, in a crew cab, I have no reason to use this feature so it is just an extra seat memory location that I don't use. Now when I reverse I can just hold down that 3rd memory location and the mirrors will tilt down to assist with parking. Since I set it without moving the seat, only the mirrors move. Keep in mind if the truck is in drive or reverse you need to hold down the button in order to get the mirrors to move.

Hope that helps!

Well that's one way.

I'm just frustrated because I'm pretty sure I set them the first day I had the truck and now I cannot figure out how to reset them. As mentioned above, it sucks for backing up a trailer. I guess I'll just have to turn it off when towing.

3rd memory position, my 214 only has 2 positions to store seating/mirror changes.
