No when you flash back to stock they can't tell.

 

Interesting. for some reason I thought it tripped a counter and told them how many times it was reflashed...

Hello! I was starting to look at some of the different tire options out there for the stock 22" rims and it doesn't seem like there are a whole lot of tire options that aren't basically passenger car tires out there that I can find. there are the stock bridgestones and a few others but I was hoping for something slightly more aggressive. most aggressive I can find is the Nitto Tera Grappler G2's. I really like theToyo open country M/T's but the closest they come in size is 33x12.5x22 and I"m not sure how much that will throw the speedo off or of they would require a level.

 

Any thoughts or ideas would be awesome!

Which Bridgestones are your stock ones? Some come with the H/L Alenzas, and some come with the Dueller ATs. The ATs are a decent AT tire in my opinion.

Agreed the AT's are a nice tire. Miles ahead of the Goodyear SR-A's.

They come with the A/T's. They are good tires. I'm looking for something a little more aggressive though. I also haven't been terribly impressed with the tred wear on the A/T's and I'm more than a little OCD about the tire pressure and rotations. If I can't find a viable option I'm probably going to go with the Nitto's.

every time you flash anything in a GM computer it has a log count. Whomever say differently is lying or doesnt know any better.

Just for information on these H/L's.

The Bridgestone H/L's have a GMPP part number and were made specifically for GM for placement on upper level trucks and SUV's. My wheels and tires were purchased as part of a deal with Discount Tire Direct. I recieved the first set of Black Rhino Letaba wheels with stainless lip they recieved in stock (that model was released only a week or so before I ordered my truck). Had an issue with the lip of the wheel getting compressed on the bottom half of the turn (heavier front end with 6.2) and the wheel would make a crackling sound on compression. After we figured out what was happening, they took back my wheels and offered me a complete package at cost including tires, lugs, GM-TPMS everything! They went through 9 wheels and 7 tires in order to get me 4 matched wheel/tire sets that are all roadforced to less than 2lbs with the Roadforce Hunter/Touch GSP9700 machine. (3 are hovering at 1lb and 1 at just under 2lb's). All I can say is DTD has my business for life!

 

My only complaint is that the GM H/L's have a textured sidewall, and I prefer the smooth sidewall that the A/T's have.

That size is smaller than stock, also cooper zeon's while being rated very well are very heavy, and they are no more aggressive than a terra grappler.

They arent saying that it doesnt trip the counter, they are saying there is no way for them to know if it was a custom tune or not.

They absolutely know. The first thing Gm wants is that snap shot.The second thing they do is run a VIS to see what has been done to vehicle by any dealership and why. This is usually done when Any major drive train component fails I worked in a GM store in service after I retired from NYPD. So I speak what I know.

      I have an Autel, works great for what it is. Can't do some specific things because you need say the GM tool, VCDS for Audi/Volkswagon and others of course. But those times are few and far between for me.   The other tool I'd like to try one day is the new Topdon scan tools. Seen several video's on them and many youtube people review them.    I've never subscribed for updates or payed to do that stuff on my Autel, so I'm sure I'm missing out on some of the updates but I'm fine with that for now.

      I am in the market for a bidirectional scan tool so was hoping someone can help point me in the right direction. There are so many options out there it is hard to narrow down which make/model to choose.   I have always done my own vehicle work so looking to maximize capability with the scanner. Ideal price is $1k or less but would be willing to exceed if it opens up significant benefits.  Currently my 24 2500 is the newest vehicle but also have a few mid to late 2010s Subarus as well.    It seems that the Autel MP900 has a decent amount of features at a reasonable price?

      There was talk over the last couple of years that the contract to build these trucks between GM and International would not be renewed.  International moved production of all their other trucks besides the companion CV model out of the Springfield plant some time ago when they opened their San Antonio plant.  That left Springfield only building the Silverado Medium Duty, International CV Series, and some Express/Savanna long wheelbase cutaways.  International also put the plant up for sale some time ago.  This all answered my earlier question as to why GM and International did nothing with these trucks since they were introduced, as they had basically become a market 'placeholder' with a finite life.    The Silverado Medium Duty/International CV trucks were interesting combination of a GM powertrain, electrical system, and K2XX Silverado cab with an International chassis that was supposedly designed for a step-van type vehicle they never produced.  They were manufactured in International's Springfield plant along with the IH MV series initially.  When first introduced, there was much talk that the Silverado Medium Duty/CV would eventually get a gasoline engine option along with other upgrades and GM and IH would work on a class 6/7 joint venture truck.  This was before VW bought Navistar out, after that happened no more was said.  Draw your own conclusions...   About the time talk started that the GM/IH joint venture was not going to be renewed, rumors started that GM would develop a new line of medium duty trucks themselves.  The story is the new trucks will be part of the next generation HD's due in 2028, and will still feature a 'straight rail' chassis design that the current medium duty has.  GM views this as a desirable feature that differentiates their truck from the competition.  A gasoline engine option is also expected.  As the current Silverado Medium Duty remains in production until September 2026 and there is still a lot of inventory available do not expect any official word for some time.   I believe GM remains committed to their successful partnership with Isuzu, and all the LCF models will still be available from Chevy Commercial dealers.  Isuzu is on the cusp of opening a new large plant in South Carolina and there is also speculation that this may result in new product for both Isuzu and Chevy Commercial dealers.
