Adding Leather Seats

Recommended Posts

I have a 2014 Chevy Silverado with cloth seats. I am wanting to put leather in it.. My previous truck I had RoadWire leather installed it was ok, but I think there are better ones.. I am either going to go with Alea Leather or Katzkin leather kits.. Has anyone heard of or had Alea Leather installed ..

I plan to go with Katzkin when the funding is ready. I haven't heard of that other brand before.

I was going to go with Katzkin, until I saw these...

What is the price range on those?

I know you can get Katzkin installed for about $1200 for a Crew.

if I lived near an installer for the brand then it would be 1400.00 installed, but sadly I don't.. I am waiting to hear back from Alea Leather on the final price for just the kit.. I will install it or find someone who will do it..

My wifes car came with cloth and we had leather installed it is katzkins. She would never want anything fancy like the OP posted but it looks very good. It looks as good as factory or maybe a little better.

Personally, no. But I've heard only good words about Alea Leather although I am against leather seats in general.

Just curious, why are you against leather seats?

I was wondering if a GMT 800 seat would fit. Much better and more comfortable seat IMO.

Leather seats are a must for me. Trips with the boys out of town and drive thru windows would have clothe seats looking pretty bad. Leather cleans up so easily. Inside of my truck looks brand new. Never clothe again.

Burned my a*s couple of times as a kid when I used to visit my Grand Parents. Leather is bad if you live in a warm city. :D

Of course, this is not my only reason, just a funny story. Also, I find it expensive, not because I'm cheap, but I don't find it as comfortable as it should be.

Doubtful. Even if it did you'd lose the airbag and get a warning light.

I live in a very warm area. It was 106 yesterday and 108 the day before. My leather seats were warm, but not enough to burn someone. I had velour in my last vehicle. It looks nice and even held up, but get into it with wet clothes and you could almost hear a sucking sound from the velour sucking the water out of the clothes. My grandkids were at VBS (Vacation Bible School) this past week. My grandson got soaked from water games every day and his older sister at least half the time. No more sloppy wet seats for days afterwards.

Yup. Velour is definitely not for wet clothes. However, I think I would try to avoid wet kids getting in my car, even if the seats are leather. [emoji2] Kidding. Kids are kids, God bless them.

I have those seats in my truck since November or December of last year. And been hunting and riding 4 wheelers fighting fires and all kinds of stuff and they still look great. I am meticulous about cleaning them though after all those activities i mentioned
